When will the US fall?

Static

Recommended Posts

US is falling, if the third world countries unite, god knows what could happen. We here in the Middle East have a large amount of Oil and other Natural Resources yet to be discovered. if the countries actually stop fighting over stuff that happened 50-100 years ago and think of what they can do know, USA will be pwned. Russia is gaining power again, yay but crap Russian is too hard for me to learn. China's Economy is also rising which will also make it a threat, and a damn big one. And Static is so right about what could happen if Russia and China unite. i believe somewhere within the next 20-25 years.

Oh and please, can noobs realize this is a debate and stop spamming. If you don't have anything to add to the debate to make it more interesting/productive then just don't come and post your opinions.

No one is forcing you to eat.

My own body is. Or do you not ever feel hunger?

But If control a huge food company and get with other food company owners and agree we all jerk prices 300% higher' date=' so that we can all make more money. Where else can they go for food? Grow it themselves? Not likely. [/quote']

ITT: Apples = Oranges. Comparing oil to food is so unbearable laughable, you loose any and all credibility you may have had with this analogy.

Necessity is the mother of all invention. Oil companies are in the right. People are still willing to pay 3 to 4 dollars for a gallon of gas. No one's forcing you to buy. You could just as easily carpool, use mass transit, walk, learn to ride a bike, buy a hybrid car, and so on.

I like how you said "a huge food company", as if there's one company who has it's hand in any and all food production.

People will be fighting over land. Then people with land can do the same thing. At any one point, some one group holds all the power.

Same system.

So? Only through competition can we get any innovations.

Grow your own. Little tip' date=' If your carrots never show any of the orange part above ground, they are not dead.[/b'] ;)

Without oil we can not advance. Without food we can not live.

So price gouging is "in the right"? Do me a favor move to a town where all they have is 1 store, or better yet where all the stores prices are 300% MSRP so that they can all make more money.

Competition leads to the downfall of all but one.

Look at Wal-Mart. Notice how you see fewer and fewer K-Marts and Targets?

Wasn't your argument that no one could grow food?

Without oil we can not advance. Without food we can not live.

How can you even remotely compare food to oil?

Food is an absolute necessity to everyone, but can be gotten from various different sources and is a renewable source.

Oil is a fuel source in a time where alternatives exists (electricity, wind, solar power) that can only be gotten from digging and is a non-renewable source.

Stop comparing apples and oranges.

Nothing is stopping you from leaving the small town. Nothing is stopping you from opening your own store. No one is forcing you to buy anything. Seriously, take a friggin' basic economy class.

I like how "think" you know different.

Prove that any food company could even remotely do that, and not have alternatives that exist, or retract your statement.

Lol @ shortsightedness. Obviously Walmart is doing something if it's completely dominating K-Mart and Target, and rightfully deserve to. People are willing to shop at Walmart, not K-Mart and Target for a reason.

Who says that the US has to "fall"? It could just as easily, and I think much more easily, be transformed into something else, like how the Roman Republic was changed into the Roman Empire. I believe that sometime in the future, perhaps within 50-75 years, the US will combine its country with others, perhaps the rest of the Americas/Western Europe.

Of course, if there is a nuclear World War, then this hypothesis will be proven to be false, but I believe that, under the current circumstances, another World War is a bit less likely than my previous outcome. Although, with more and more countries gaining nuclear power, this one might prove to become the more likely of the two as time goes on.

Not everyone can. I suppose you think Africans just doesn't know how to put food in their mouths?

Look at the countries that don't/can't get oil. Go live there. See how you like it.

It's happening everywhere. Small towns it's the most obvious.

Nothing is stopping you from opening your own store.

 Then they drop their prices. You don't have the back money to keep working at a loss. So you go out of business. Prices then go back up.

No one is forcing you to buy anything. Seriously, take a friggin' basic economy class.

They already do. Have you ever heard of parent companies?

Because they drop price so that they are all lower than anywhere else. Everyplace else closes up. Prices skyrocket. It's called a Monopoly.

It happened in my town. Yes, I am living it.

Look at oil companies profits. Tell me they are charging a fair price.

Do you see K-Marts anymore? No, most of them went out of business.

We have people living on the streets. People who can not afford to feed themselves. People are dieing of easily curable diseases. Yet we also have people who will never have to worry about where will they live, whether or not they will get their next meal. Where will they sleep? The can afford to look like whatever they want with surgery. All because they got lucky in the genetic lottery or their ancestors got lucky.

Are you telling me that's not F'ed up?

We need to do something. But we won't.

Opinion. If people are willing to buy it for that price. It's fair.

'Kay. That doesn't prove free market had anything to do with it.

Wrong. Certain people can AFFORD to pay that price' date=' not everyone[/b'].

It's because price is not regulated. That's what free trade is!

If everyone made the amount of money that they need to survive comfortably and price was controlled things would be better. we claim "All men are created equal". Why don't we start acting like it.

I strongly disagree. All men are most certainly not created equal. Some are more powerful' date=' some are smarter, some are more beautiful.

[/quote']

As I said, all that means you got lucky in the genetic lottery. Lets say you diden't get lucky, does that mean you deserve to live life fighting uphill, or not live life at all?

Supply and demand is simply used to justify. I can not think of one thing you need to survive that the rich do not waste while the poor are dieing without.

I see. People like you should be stripped of everything and sent to a third world country. Perhaps you would come back with some true understanding.

And people like you should take a simple economics class.

There are things called "limited resources". There are only a certain number of things in the world.

If everyone lived at the exact same standard of living, that uniform standard would not be pretty. Now stop this whole "life is so unfair!" thing. It is. Now grow up.

So what do you think would work' date=' PikaPerson01?

I suppose the abolishment of all monetary systems would work.

[/quote']

Easy. An alternative energy source, like cheap reliable solar, would solve a huge chunk of the global economic problems. Develop a way to effectively transmit energy through microwaves, and you can have solar power plants orbiting, so the sun is always in view.
