You can only use the (1) effect of “Dark Magician of Chaos” once per turn. (1) During the End Phase, if this card was Normal or Special Summoned this turn: You can target 1 Spell Card in your Graveyard; add it to your hand. (2) At the end of the Damage Calculations, if this card destroyed an opponent’s monster by battle: Banish that monster. (3) If this card would leave the field, banish it instead.

 

So most of us were expecting this card to hit 2, but OCG was just like, nah, put that s*** at three. 

 

I honestly don't think it's trash like most people claim. 

 

Q: If the first effect of Dark Magician of Chaos is activated during the End Phase, but Book of Moon or Compulsory Evacuation Device are chained so that Dark Magician of Chaos is no longer face-up on the field when its effect resolves, does the effect apply?

A: In this case, even if Dark Magician of Chaos is no longer face-up on the field when its effect resolves, the effect is applied normally.

This is the important effect to keep in Mind. Now what cards can summon DMoC where he is hardest to hit?

 

CoTH in a Dark (Hero?) Build. Return from the Dark Dimension in a chaos build? There was a very potent Shaddoll build back in the called Trap dolls that use dark Renewal (below) to abuse this card 

 

When your opponent Normal or Special Summons a monster(s):Target 1 of those monsters and 1 Spellcaster-Type monster you control; send both monsters to the Graveyard, then you can Special Summon 1 DARK Spellcaster-Type monster from your Deck or Graveyard.

 

And finally, what I think has the most potential. 

 

 

With Magican Pendulum's near entire deck being spellcaster monster, having this card in the mix would allow for a quick play response to something like shock master. Not only is DMoC at three, but DMoC would instantly allow you to re-add the card. And it gets better. You can summon any spellcaster. So Majespecter Unicorn and  

Destruction (Xiangke) Magican are also solid targets. Not to mention. It royally f***s over Dante and BA monsters it kills.
