For all I know, they could have been messing around. Even so, is that really wise when police officers are under heavy scrutiny?

 

I would also like to know if you guys think it was a joke or not. If you want to know why I think it might be that, it's because something similar happened in Florida.

On one hand they got that sign "we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone". I never got that sign, if one discriminates, how is that sign valid? What is even the purpose of that sign if they can't actually refuse service to anyone? That never really made any sense...

Yes you reserve the right to refuse service, but that doesn't mean you won't get backlash.

 

Especially if your superiors don't tolerate the behavior you're sporting

Generally that's for people who act like complete asshats. Not refusing based on race/etc.
