We Are Experiencing Multiple Containment Breaches: SCP Deck (Written)

Recommended Posts

I was originally going to post this in "Casual Multiples" until I realized that enough of these cards subtly screw with game mechanics that it should probably be pushed to experimentals. Basically, these are a series of cards based on the SCP Database, including Monsters, Spells, and Traps. The main gimmick of this archetype is that when an "SCP" card leaves the field, it goes into "containment" in the Banished Zone rather than being sent to the Graveyard. I tried my best to stay faithful to the original articles when coming up with these effects, but some don't translate well. I also know that some work is needed on the text, since I don't have a lot of experience with newer cards. That said, I hope you enjoy!

[spoiler=Monster Cards]

“SCP-001-Beta: The Prototype”

ATK: 2000 / DEF: 1500 / LVL: 5

[Fiend / Effect]

Effect: This card’s name is always treated as “The Prototype”. If an “SCP” monster you control is targeted by a card effect which specifically targets one monster, you may change the target to this card. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

"SCP-001-Gamma: The Gate Guardian"

ATK: 3000 / DEF: 2500 / LVL: 10 / LIGHT

[Pyro / Ritual / Effect]

Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set; this card cannot be Special Summoned except by the effect of "Eden Gate". Once per turn, when this card is targeted by an attack, you may banish up to five cards in your hand; destroy a number of monsters controlled by your opponent equal to the number of cards you banished. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

“SCP-001-Kappa: Thirty-Six”

ATK: 500 / DEF: 500 / LVL: 0 / LIGHT

[spellcaster / Effect]

Effect: (This card’s original Level is always treated as 2.) When this card battles a monster controlled by your opponent, if there are one or more “SCP” cards in your Graveyard, the defending monster is treated as a Normal Monster until the end of the Battle Phase. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

“SCP-002: The “Living” Room”

ATK: 0 / DEF: 2000 / LVL: 4 / 2 / 2

[Fiend / Pendulum / Effect]

Pendulum Effect: Once per turn, during your Main Phase 1, you may discard one card from your hand to destroy one Warrior or Spellcaster-Type monster controlled by your opponent. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

Monster Effect: Once per turn, when this card is attacked by an opposing monster, you can negate the attack. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard or Extra Deck, banish it instead.

“SCP-003: Organic Computer”

ATK: 1000 / DEF: 1000 / LVL: 4 / 7 / 7

[Machine / Pendulum / Effect]

Pendulum Effect: You can only Pendulum Summon “SCP” monsters. Whenever you Pendulum Summon a monster, increase the ATK of all monsters you control with the same Attribute as the Pendulum Summoned monster by 500. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

Monster Effect: Once per turn, if you have two or fewer cards in your hand, increase this card’s ATK and DEF by 400. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard or Extra Deck, banish it instead.

“SCP-007: Abdominal Planet”

[Warrior / Effect]

Effect: If this card is used to Xyz Summon an “SCP” Xyz Monster, this card counts as two Xyz Materials. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

"SCP-010: Collar of Control"

ATK: 0 / DEF: 0 / LVL: 2 / DARK

[Machine / Union / Effect]

Effect: During your Main Phase 1, if you control no face-up monsters, you may activate this effect: equip this card to a monster controlled by your opponent; this card is treated as an Equip Spell Card as long as this effect is active. Take control of the equipped monster. The equipped monster cannot activate monster effects or be used as a Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz Material as long as this effect is active. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead. You may control only one "SCP-010: Collar of Control" at a time.

"SCP-173: The Sculpture"

ATK: 1700 / DEF: 1300 / LVL: 4 / EARTH

[Rock / Tuner / Effect]

Effect: If this card is in face-up Defense Position, this card cannot be destroyed. If your opponent controls more monsters than you, this card cannot declare an attack. If this card attacks a monster in face-up Defense Position, inflict piercing Battle Damage. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

"SCP-239: The Witch Child"

ATK: 3200 / DEF: 2800 / LVL: 8 / LIGHT

[spellcaster / Gemini / Effect]

Effect: This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is a Normal Monster on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it become an Effect Monster with the following effects:

● Target one "SCP" monster in your Banished Zone; return it to your deck.

● Banish one card from either player's field or Extra Deck.

● Increase one monster's ATK or DEF by 1000.

● Destroy one face-up Trap or Spell Card on the field.

You may activate only one effect of "SCP-239" per turn. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

“SCP-882: A Machine”

ATK: 0 / DEF: 0 / LVL: 8 / DARK

[Machine / Effect]

Effect: Once per turn, during your Main Phase 1, you may target 1 Machine-Type monster controlled by either player and equip it to this card; the targeted card is treated as an Equip Spell Card as long as this effect remains active. This card gains ATK and DEF equal to the total ATK and DEF of all monsters equipped to it by its own effect. You may have up to three monsters equipped to this card by this effect. You may control only one face-up "SCP-882: A Machine". If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

[spoiler=Spell Cards]

"SCP-001-Alpha: Sheaf of Papers" (Continuous)

Effect: While this card is face-up on the field, you can activate this effect instead of conducting a normal Draw Phase. Choose 2 "SCP" cards from your deck and have your opponent select one of them; add this card to your hand and banish the other. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

“SCP-001-Epsilon: The Factory”

[Field Spell Card]

Effect: As long as this card remains face-up on the field, when a card effect is activated which specifically targets one or more monsters on your field, you may pay 500 Life Points to negate the attack and destroy the card; your opponent must then send all cards on their field or in their hand or deck with the same name as the destroyed card to the Graveyard. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

“SCP-001-Zeta: The Spiral Path”

[Field Spell Card]

Effect: All “SCP” monsters cannot be destroyed in battle. “SCP” Xyz Monsters can be Xyz Summoned using cards from your hand or field as Xyz Materials. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

“SCP-001-Nu: A Record”

[spell Card (Equip)]

Effect: Instead of conducting your normal Draw Phase, you may add this card from your deck to your hand; then shuffle your deck. An Effect Monster equipped with this card cannot have its monster effect(s) negated. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

“SCP-005: Skeleton Key”

[spell Card (Continuous)]

Effect: As long as this card remains face-up on the field, neither player can activate effects which prevent monsters from attacking. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

“SCP-006: Fountain of Youth”

[Field Spell Card]

Effect: As long as this card remains face-up on the field, during the End Phase of each player’s turn, the ATK of all face-up monsters that player controls returns to its original value. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

“SCP-008: Zombie Plague”

[spell Card (Continuous)]

Effect: Once per turn, during your Main Phase 1, Special Summon one non-Machine-type monster from your Graveyard. Monsters summoned by this effect have their DEF become 0 and gain ATK equal to their original DEF. Monsters summoned by this effect cannot activate card effects. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

"SCP-963: Immortality" (Equip)

Effect: You may equip this card to a face-up monster you control. The equipped monster's ATK and DEF become 1500 and 1200; the equipped monster's name is treated as "Jack Bright" for the remainder of the duel. If the equipped monster battles an "SCP" or Spellcaster-Type monster, its ATK is doubled until the End Phase of your turn. The equipped monster cannot activate monster effects. If a monster equipped with this card is destroyed as a result of battle, return this card to your hand and negate the battle damage. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

"Eden Gate" (Ritual)

Effect: This card can only be activated if you have 200 or fewer Life Points. This card is used to Ritual Summon "SCP-001-Gamma: The Gate Guardian". You must also tribute monsters from your hand or field whose total Level is 10 or higher.

[spoiler=Trap Cards]

“SCP-001-Delta: The Lock”

[Trap Card]

Effect: This card’s effect cannot be activated unless this card has been face-down on the field for at least five turns. When this card’s effect is activated, you may banish it to Special Summon as many “SCP” monsters as possible from your hand. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

“SCP-001-Eta: The Legacy”

[Trap Card (Continuous)]

Effect: You may activate this effect when an “SCP-001” card you control leaves the field. During each player’s End Phase after this card is activated, place one Corruption Counter on this card. When this card has accumulated 10 Corruption Counters, banish it to activate the following effect: destroy every other card on the field; each player then receives 500 points of Direct Damage for every card they controlled which was destroyed by this effect. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

“SCP-001-Theta: The Database”

[Trap Card]

Effect: You may activate this effect once per turn when an “SCP” card you control is banished by a card effect other than its own. Target one “SCP” card in your Banished Zone with a different name than the card which was banished and return it to your deck; then shuffle your deck. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

“SCP-001-Iota: The Foundation”

[Trap Card]

Effect: Banish all “SCP” cards on your field and in your hand; increase your Life Points by the number of cards banished by this effect. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

“SCP-001-Lambda: Keter Duty”

[Trap Card]

Effect: Target two Level 6 or higher “SCP” monsters which have been banished; return them to your deck, then shuffle the deck. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

“SCP-004: 12 Rusty Keys and a Door”

[Trap Card]

Effect: This effect can be activated when your opponent declares an attack against a face-up monster you control. Role two 6-side dice. If the result of both dice are the same, destroy the attacking monster; your opponent then receives damage equal to the destroyed monster’s original ATK. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

"SCP-2000: Deus Ex Machina"

[Trap Card]

Effect: You may activate this card when your Life Points would be reduced to 0 while you have five or more "SCP" cards in your Banished Zone. Negate the damage; your Life Points immediately become 100. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

"Containment Breach"

Effect: You may activate this effect when you receive 1000 or more points of damage to your Life Points in a single turn. Target up to three "SCP" cards in your Banished Zone with different names; return them to your deck, then shuffle the deck.

[spoiler=Extra Deck Monsters]

“SCP-001-Mu: The Children”

ATK: 0 / DEF: 0 / RNK: 6

[spellcaster / Xyz / Effect]

Cost: 3 Level 6 “SCP” monsters

Effect: This card can only be Xyz Summoned if your opponent controls more monsters than you. Once per turn, you may detach one Xyz Material from this card to activate the following effect: target one card on the field; banish it, and deal 500 points of damage to the owner of that card. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

"SCP-179: Sauelseusor"

ATK: 0 / DEF: 3000 / RNK: 6

[Pyro / Xyz / Effect]

Cost: 2 or more Level 6 "SCP" monsters

Effect: This card cannot be destroyed in battle. Once per turn, you may detach one Xyz Material from this card to activate the following effect: banish one "SCP" card from your deck. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

"SCP-682: Hard-To-Destroy Reptile"

ATK: 4000 / DEF: 3500 / LVL: 12 / DARK

[beast / Synchro / Effect]

Cost: 1 "SCP" Tuner + 1 or more "SCP" non-Tuner monsters

Effect: This card cannot be destroyed as a result of battle. Once per turn, this card is targeted by a card effect, you may reduce this card's ATK by 1000 to negate the effect and destroy the card; your opponent must then banish all cards with the same name as the destroyed card from their hand or deck. This card's ATK returns to its original value during the End Phase of your turn. If this card would be sent to the Graveyard, banish it instead.

More card effects will be added soon.

Most recently added: SCP-004, 005, 006, 007, 008

Been waiting for this. Looks cool. I like the effects, and how they reflect the actual SCP's effects.

As for cards, Containment breach seems a little underpowered though, considering the damage limitation. As for the Sychro, you're only getting him out if you somehow managed to have less than 200 LP and survived enough to both have the Ritual Spell, Monster, and the tuner. A little difficult to actually get out, maybe put no restriction on the non-tuner monster? I would recommend you change 173's effect to face-up Defense Position protection only, because those effects are pretty hard to work with when it's face-down.

Yeah, I keep forgetting that "the cards I've posted / come up with" does not yet equate to "all the SCPs". In the future it will be much easier to summon 682, though I still want it to be tricky as a result of it being pretty OP. As for 173, good suggestion; changed. I've also added SCP-239 and tweaked the effect of "Containment Breach".

I really like where this is going. They are generics that can work pretty well together. This needs some more comments though!

(Altho tbf not many people comment on Experimental section, most of the CC is done in Advanced)
