[D.C.Arts] Harpie Cards

[Dramatic Crossroad]

Quick summary: I'm revamping some old concept cards (couldn't find the original topic)  this time i took the time to draw the artworks, because i really love Harpies and i think they can do more (we've got some new ones lately but the deck isn't quite strong as it should have been, with KONAMI's recent trend to reboot old archetypes (Red Eyes, Buster Blader and BLS) maybe there is still hope!!!

 

Enough talk, Here are my cards (again)

 

 

 

Harpie's Pet Dragon Egg (WIND)

 

Level: 3

[Dragon / Tuner / Effect]

Once per turn: You can target 1 other "Harpie" monster you control that has a level; this card's Level becomes the same as the target's Level until the End Phase.

ATK/ 400    DEF/500

 

 

A semi-counterpart of Black and White Stones of Legend, has 1/5 of Pet Dragon's ATK/DEF, but here end the similarities. Originally i thought to make it Level 1, for the sake of "Vortex The Whirlwind", but then i thought how awful Vortex is, so i didn't consider it a valid reason to make this card bad. If it were level 1 it would have been too annoying with Channeler - having access to Level 8 synchros and Rank7 Xyz. Level 8 synchros are still possible with this card's effect though. Level 7 Synchros are also a go, Black Rose, Clear-Wing, Ancient Fairy, Ancient Pixie, all which are relevant in Harpie in their field-spell-relying builds.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Harpie Mirage (WIND)

Level: 4

[Winged Beast / Effect]

(This card's name is always treated as "Harpie Lady Sisters")

If Special Summoned: This card can attack twice during each Battle Phase and gains 500 ATK and DEF. 

You can treat this card as 2 Xyz Materials for the Xyz Summon of a WIND or Winged Beast-Type monster that requires 3 Xyz Materials (This card counts as 1 Material while attached to that Xyz Monster).

ATK/ 1450    DEF/1600

 

 

So, my idea was putting life back into Elegant Egotist. We got a new and cool card ("Hysteric Sign") to search for it, but it's no good if 1/2 of its capabilities are cut off by "Harpie Lady Sisters" being as it is, potential dead draw with mediocre stats. This card replaces it completely with... the ability to have Sister's 1950ATK/2100DEF for continuity's sake, it's also searchable by "Harpie Harpist" and it's a 2-Mat effect monster that makes Phantasmal Dragon a tad easier to Summon, (or maybe "RR - Rise Falcon").  

 

[TF2_The_Scout]

Per Dragon Egg-I run the R7 build myself, and Pet Deagon is usually a dead draw, especially in pairs. Since this card has a lower level, it's actually really good. It can make said rank 7 plays without being a dead draw. It can even make my favorite synchro monsters like Crimson Blader in Harpies. No complaints here.

 

Harpie Mirage-Again, a reliable not-a-dead-draw card. Since it counts as 2 materials, it will only take this and another card to make Phantasmal Dragon. However, it can also be used just by itself for desperate XYZ plays, like a Daigusto Emeral or some other WIND/Winged Beast XYZ, like Ice Beast Zerofyne. At least it only counts as 1 material while attached though, otherwise it could of been exploited with Castel.

 

Overall, these are really nice for Harpies. It keeps their usual plays going, but removes the issue of dead draws. I love it.

One thing though - Mirage has the clause that she counts as 2 only for Xyz that requires 3 materials, so she cannot be "abused with" to instantly summon  a Castel/Chidori/Emeral/Strix etc. I added that cause i figured it'd be absurd otherwise. :)
