If this card is revealed while being banished Facedown, Special Summon this card to your side of the field.During either player's turn, when a monster effect is activated, reveal this card in your hand and negate the activation,if you do destroy that monster then banish this card Facedown.

Dharkstrom will be an archetype I am creating that will rely heavily on being banished facedown. When revealed they activate effects.

You have not even revealed the archetype yet and this card already looks like trouble. The second Monster Effect is insane as a monster effect negator that can stop the effect anywhere, including hand, field, graveyard, banished, etc. it's a hand-trap, it destroys the monster if it's on the field unlike Veiler, Fiendish, etc. AND, as if that wasn't enough, then it sets itself up to be retrieved by another copy of itself in a Pendulum Zone, or by whatever reveals it while banished face-down.

 

I bet the Pendulum effect will be easier to apply with the archetype cards, but as it stands now, it can be used to retrieve cards banished by Psy-Frame Overload and copies of itself (as mentioned above) AND, perhaps the most concerning perk, turns Different Dimension Capsule into an pseudo-omni monster searcher.

 

In conclusion, I say "no" to this card. I would suggest fixes but personally I don't like to where this card and concept are going so I got no ideas that don't involve an entire overhaul. I guess you could start with nerfing to the point of making it akin to Veiler, but even then, it most likely will remain as a better Veiler in most cases given that this doubles as a Pendulum, so it would still be a problem in my opinion.

Originally I had a restriction summoning clause on the pen effect to only summon dark thunder monsters. I believe that only three monsters outside this archetype exist and are all outide the 1-5 scales. I forgot also to add field only as well,should I still cut the destruction side of it?
