RYOURI2
Heyyyyy guys! So, I really like the idea of RUM's, but they aren't that good in the game (aside from Astral Force), so I tried to make one that would help a lot of decks! Tell me what you think. :3 Rank-Up-Magic Glorious Days / Spell, Quick-Play Target 1 Xyz Monster you control; Special Summon from your Extra Deck, 1 monster that is one Rank higher or lower than the targeted monster, by using it as the Xyz Material, also it gains this effect: If it is Summoned, draw 1 card. (This Special Summon is treated as an Xyz Summon, Xyz Materials attached to it also become Xyz Materials on the Summoned monster.) Once per turn, if this card is in your graveyard: You can banish 1 Xyz Monster and 1 Spell Card from your graveyard; Add this card to your hand. You can only activate 1 "Rank-Up-Magic Glorious Days" per turn.
Fukato
This card is immediately 1 of the most powerful cards thanks to its "no reaction" clause and because it can Rank up or down to any Xyz Monster without restrictions, then you get 1 free draw due to its add-on effect. This would be immediately ban because it is actually more powerful than Super Polymerization because of it can add itself back by banishing 1 Spell and Xyz Monster, alongside that it is a Quick-Play meaning you can Rank up or down on your opponent's turn too. Its only real drawback is that it can only be activated once per turn, so yeah this clause alone won't balance it enough. If the "no reaction" clause is thrown out, this card would be majorly fine. RYOURI2
Thanks for the feedback, Fumofu! So yeah, I was trying to make a good card for RUM, but using the "no reaction" clause was a bit over the top. XD I'm going to change it. :3~
Trebuchet MS
Please be careful when designing RUMs, especially if it has no restriction to what you can Rank Up into. Do you know of Tellarknight Ptolemaeus? It effectively had a built-in free Rank-Up mechanic, and what resulted from it was players using it to go into Cyber Dragon Nova and then Cyber Dragon Infinity to create a very difficult obstacle to surmount. They say "a tutor is as powerful as its targets", and the same logic can apply to RUMs. With no restriction on what can be made (with the exception of +/- 1 Rank, and that's already very flexible as far as RUMs go), this card allows for many powerful Xyz monsters that are otherwise held back by their clumsy Summon restrictions to be used outside their intended archetype, like the aforementioned Cyber Dragon Infinity. There's a very good reason why so many RUMs tend to restrict the output by Attribute and/or Type, and that the only exception to this is Limited Barian's Force which only works on Rank 4 monsters.
