International Space Programs

Resolved: That the nations of the world stop bickering and create a United Space Project, and that it be given lots of funding.

Whereas, this planet is going to die soon and we need a backup plan.

Whereas, meeting other intelligent life could be beneficial to our society.

Whereas, space exploration could better help us understand our origins.

Go.

Uniting in a cause for space exploration would help the US, as we currently are headed towards what seems to be a recession, and we should keep as many tax dollars as possible. Plus, a united space program would give us a wide range of technologies to use, not limited only to a few countries who might be a ahead in some areas.

The first reply is supposed to be a negation, but your points should be noted.

Keep in mind this concerns the world.

ooooh....Um. No. Sounds too good to be true. I mean' date=' for me, UN= "Fail?"

I personally believe, that......

It will only be harder for us to find the US on a map that way. We can't have that many dumb kids, or we'll have to use euthenasia, and, yeah

Learn politics and current issues.

Come back later.

Your Resolution is inherently flawed. The nations of the world are so vastly different, societally, religiously, governmentally, etc., that it would be nigh unto impossible for them to all get along to make something like this work. And, don't use the UN as an example. It just provides a floor for the bickering to continue in person. They don't even seem to get much done, without us thinking about giving them more to try to do.

It seems like a good idea, but it wouldn't really work out practically. Who would run it, the UN? Surely not. There just doesn't seem to be any group that could successfully run this.

Though, I do admit that it would be beneficial, if there was some way to make it work.

A United Space Project would pretty much fail. the UN was a fail, this will be the same. People across the world have different beliefs, native backgrounds and aims that uniting it will not help at all.

just look at the UN, it doesn't matter to anyone, the Big 5 use it as a toy to get what they want, and the top countries of the world will just use it as a toy to improve their nuclear and army power.

This topic is not whether or not about whether or not it would work, but whether or not it should be created. Should it be created, a tested system for the world's nations to work efficiently would be created. Also note the UN Resolution proposed in another topic.
