Atypical-Abbie
Mirror monsters is a new sub-type for Effect Monsters. During your Main Phase, you can Mirror Summon them and their current Level (or Rank) becomes their Mirror Level. You can tell what their Mirror Level is by them having transparent/reflective Levels. This can be higher or lower than their current Level. A Mirror Summon is not a Normal Summon, nor a Special Summon, so you can perform them, even if you can't perform those kinds of Summons, however you cannot perform them if you cannot Summon anything in general. A Mirror Summoned monster remembers how it was previous Summoned. Mirror monsters are always considered Mirror monsters, however they are only considered to be Mirror Summoned when you Mirror Summon them. Mirror monsters can be Ritual, Synchro, Pendulum etc. though they are mostly Effect Monsters. Mirror monsters can also have other sub-types as well, such as Spirit and Tuner, where Tuner are most common, allowing you to change the Level to something more useful for a Synchro Summon, if the situation calls for it. A Mirror Level/Rank acts the same way as a normal Level/Rank, so you can still use them for Synchro, Xyz and Ritual Summons. A Mirror monster cannot be affected by cards that affect its Mirror Level/Rank, unless they are Mirror Summoned first, or the card says so otherwise. All Mirror monsters have this text:"If this card is not Mirror Summoned, during your Main Phase: You can Mirror Summon this card and its Level/Rank becomes its Mirror Level/Rank." [spoiler=Examples] Here are some examples of Mirror monsters: Double PeckerWinged Beast-Type/WIND/Mirror/TunerLevel 2/Mirror Level 4If this card is not Mirror Summoned, during your Main Phase: You can Mirror Summon this card and its Level becomes its Mirror Level. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) If Xyz Summoned this way, it cannot activate its effects for the rest of the turn. Once per turn: You can target 1 Spell/Trap Card or Xyz Monster in your Graveyard; attach it to this card as an Xyz Material. This card gains 100 ATK and DEF for each Xyz Material attached to it. If this card is not Mirror Summoned, during your Main Phase: You can Mirror Summon this card and its Rank becomes its Mirror Rank. If this card would be destroyed, you can detach 2 Xyz Material from it instead. randomguyjw
so, just for understanding, Mirror Summon seems very similar to Gemini summoning, with the main differences being that mirror monsters are not able to be used with normal monster support, gain levels when conducting there 2nd summon, and unlike Gemini's, they can have effects before needing to conduct there second summon. seems like an interesting idea to say the least
0PxPz0
so besides the level change what's the advantage to mirror summoning them?
Atypical-Abbie
so besides the level change what's the advantage to mirror summoning them?Nothing, like other sub-types, it's not meant to be a massive advantage, but a special little trick you can use, and also that they are a sub-type, so they have specific support for them. It's meant to create combos, if you read the card examples, you can see how they may be used to your advantage.

Eddie McBean
To be honest I could see this being an incredibly useful sub-type, as it could very much synergise with a whole lot of decks and since it's not an special summon, you don't need to worry about getting Honor ARK steal them from you.
