I see we have this here Topic Moderation in place at the Debates forum' date=' which makes me wonder if it could be used to some put some effective measures into place within other areas of the site.

Discuss.

I said that in the thread ABOUT the debate forum. -_-;;;

The only problem with the current setting is that the debate forum is lacking mods. *cough petition cough*.

Also, you would need a helluva lot more mods in order to maintain that in other areas.

Well what if you became a Super Moderator then Draco?

****. My post just got erased.

It'd be quite a bit of work, but I would most definitely be up to it.

Custom Cards would have more artwork rules enforced, and I would require credit in each thread, not just "Credit to deviantart where I'll be getting most of my pics" in the user's signature. That's not true credit, and I respect artists.

GD would see a reform that fit vets and n00bs better, and it would have a contests subforum.

General doesn't need much more, but Debate would be a General subforum, not a Polls subforum. There would be no post count in Introductions.

Yu-Gi-Oh is fine, but there might be a section for Meta/Upper-Tier decks. It pretty much needs it.

I would most definitely be up to the task, and if it were too much, I'd step down respectively. Mind you, leaving is not stepping down. Leaving is leaving.

Crap, that's a political speech.

Oh well, you asked.

Well i think it would cut down most spam and it would have a GREAT effect on the Sapm. But that means that a mod would have to be assigned to that position. So in turn means more mods, in turn makes it diffacult for YCMaker to keep up on the Mod issues like, who to be mod, and that means less work on Upgrades, and Secruity updates.

Rofl, security.

That's the software provider's job, not YCMaker's. It's in the board's core coding.

It wouldn't have an effect on the spam unless major changes were made, and YCMaker probably doesn't want to take the time or risk to do the things required for the only way to make this work.

EDIT: Sanji, you're wrong. The system requires upkeep, and because there's only one true admin, that can't happen. I realize S-Mods have limited ACP access, but I don't know what they can touch.

Now i have been upgraded to Custom Cards Moderator, i intend to do what Kaze set out to do but didnt;

ENFORCE the Credit Rules.

I am currently remaking and upgrading the Realistic Rules, and i can tell you now that it will be enforced alot better.

Don't blame me, I've not been in that forum in a LONG time.

I would if I was a super, though. =p

Nice to hear, DJ.

If I were you, I would require credit for each artist via links to profiles or other requirements by the artist IN EACH THREAD.

+Approved Artists thread.

Thats what i plan.

Basically if anyone posts cards without any credit or disclaimer at all then their thread will be Locked and cards removed.

If someone posts cards and says simply 'art from google, art from DA', their cards will be removed and they will get a message on their thread.

I spend 3 weeks tracking down nearly 50 images from the web before i posted my 'rave collection', i credited each artist and made a Link to each artwork, others should have to do the same.

Its rather annoying seeing people ignoring the rule or just posting 'from photobucket', so dont worry, it will be enforced alot better.

One would hope. But don't try to get me to go back... I'll only go near the place if/when I become an S-Mod. =p

It'll probably never happen, but if YCMaker would take a chance on me, I'd be willing to bet he'd be making the right choice.

Most of the other mods might agree, I'm not sure.

Yeah i agree with that but' date=' what if its a custom Picture? and you mistake it? we could just edit it again. so i say yes to it but if they don't post who made the artwork then for 1 warning to tell them or remove the card.

Lets get back on topic. it's a very good idea i think.[/quote']

If it's "custom", they have to post a picture of their name/username atop the original work.

If you tell me it's all digital, provide the .psd, the raw image file, .pdn, whatever.

That's what I would do. =p

And we are on topic... sort of.
