RichardParker Posted January 23, 2016 Report Share Posted January 23, 2016 Lore: When your opponent activates a "Mirror Force", "Bottomless Trap Hole", "Torrential Tribute", "Solemn Warning", "Dimensional Prison", "Sakuretsu Armor", "Mystical Space Typhoon", "Heavy Storm", "Smashing Ground", or "Hammer Shot": You can negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that card, then draw 1 card. As time passes, the game changes, and the power of staples change. What was once a decent generic removal can get outclassed with the coming of another set, or can be zapped into the Forbidden list. This makes cards that specifically counter other cards by name rather weak in the long run - not to mention that several archetypes can use their unique removal cards to outright dodge this card. I'd scrap the specific name gimmick entirely and go for something like "When your opponent activates a Spell/Trap Card that targets and/or would destroy a monster(s) you control" to vastly expand the number of cards this can work against. Of course, with such a wide scope, the "draw 1 card" at the end can then be removed. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Dokutah Posted January 23, 2016 Report Share Posted January 23, 2016 unless i need a new computer screen looks like the card generator has failed to generate the cards Counter (assumed) typing. other than that as mentioned before, cards that work specifically against names will rendered obsolete in long run as pool of staples is keeping evolving. i do see the pay off of it usage though as you conservatively counter specific cards that mostly used (at least in your assumption) to suppress your progression and then you get a bit of hand advantage to retaliate next turn. without changing the flavor too much maybe you can change it to work generically to all spell or trap card although i must admit it will be slightly broken, and require a bit extra limitation (maybe only work agains quick-play spell or counters only...up to you). and then if this card negate and destroy those specific cards you mention, you get the bonus effect .you can also try to make the range of the bonus effect wider by triggered when it destroy 1 of the series of that card (for example : when this card destroy "Solemn", "mirror force", " ",.........card by this effect, because there also solemn judgement,warning,notice,etc) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
