You may tribute 3 Steel defender tokens and remove 1 XYZ material to destroy all monsters on your opponent's side of the field that were special summoned and negate their effects during the battle and damage calculation step.

Since the opponent being able to SS more than 1 monster at once is increasingly common, I'd like to know if this card generates a Token for each time monsters are SS'd or for each monster being SS'd.

I'd say for each time a monster is being special summoned. For each monster that has been SSed may be a bit too much and can also be a tad too situational.
