Toffee.
This card cannot be targeted, except by its own effect, or be destroyed by card effects. If a card is targeted by a card effect: You can make the target of that card effect this card instead.Wouldn't it be easier just to say: Your opponent cannot target other cards on the field, except [inset card's name here]. Cannot be destroyed by card effectsI mean, it basically accomplishes the same thing, since, you know, and given it's current wording, you would basically do that anyway. Would also keep stuff like Twin Twister/etc at bay, since they can't be played while This card is on the field. It's an idea, but still.
Lunar Origins
No. I want the controller to have complete control over if something would target Vanigloria or not.
Toffee.
No. I want the controller to have complete control over if something would target Vanigloria or not.Part of why I asked was because "This card cannot be targeted, except by its own effect" sounds a little weird. Probably reading it in a weird way, but whatever.
empyrealray
I kind of have to agree with Armz on this. Vanigloria's effect would freeze the game since it isn't actually targetting itself, it's just changing what the other card is targetting. Not to mention it would be unable to stop cards that specifically affect spell and trap cards since it isn't a viable target. EDIT: I guess "This card cannot be targeted, except by its own effect" could be interpreted as allowing itself to be targetted by other cards, but it sounds really awkward imo.
