Guest BGMCANN0N
Accursed Tjaty ✪✪✪✪[Earth/Zombie]ATK/ 1400 DEF/ 1900 (1)Once per turn: you can change this card to face-down Defense Position. (2) When this card is flipped face-up: Special Summon 1 EARTH Zombie-Type monster that lists "face-down Defense Position" in its text from your Deck or Graveyard in face-up or face-down Defense Position, except "Accursed Tjaty". (3) When your opponent's monster declares an attack while you control this face-down card: reveal this face-down card; change the attacking monster to face-down Defense Position. You can only use this effect of "Accursed Tjaty" once per turn. [spoiler=Design Notes] I made this guy after looking at some really outdated cards from Pharaonic Guardian http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Pharaonic_Guardianthat seemed to be related enough to where they could be an archetype as they shared these things in common: They are Earth Zombies that benefit off of being flipped face-down by their own effects, and they shared an ancient Egyptian theme. One of them introduced one real cool idea: shuffling your face-down monsters to put your opponent in a mind game scenario. However, they were eventually forgotten due to how slow they were as the game started to progress further into the the favor of speed. They even had a real good boss monster, but... Unfortunately, it was stunted with a horrifically situational summoning condition (It would have been too fast for its time though so it is understandable). It was known as Fushioh Richie. http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Fushioh_Richie Since the "archetype" had no definitive name... I went ahead and borrowed the unusual wording of the newly introduced Magician's Rod http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Magician's_Rodwhich searches card's through their text as a means of classification of a group of cards (instead of searching card's that shared a specific words in their name). Bellringer Angel
It's a very good support for the monsters that you have mentioned. But, why is it not a FLIP monsters? It's (1) effect really sounds like a FLIP effect in my opinion.
Guest BGMCANN0N
It's a very good support for the monsters that you have mentioned. But, why is it not a FLIP monsters? It's (1) effect really sounds like a FLIP effect in my opinion.Because effect (1) is the inverse of flipping...(?) I mean there is a group of monsters that flip themselves back face-down that aren't classified as FLIP effects... (This is more of a question you would ask Konami about why they chose not to classify these as FLIP's because, honestly , I don't know why they came to that decision other than to prevent confusion) A more recent example of that would be Ghostricks. http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Ghostrick Example: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Ghostrick_Jiangshi
Yuuji Kazami
Third Effect can be used as a surprise, flipping this card face-up and flipping the enemy face-down......useful against insanely strong monsters with weak defenseYou're still giving terrible reviews. As for the card, it can also be very useful as a tech because of the built-in Book of Moon effect. Not only that, this card's first effect can either help swarm the field with Earth-Type Zombies. This is especially true when you have more than 1 copy of this card on the field. Not only that, this card can serve to create an emergency Rank 4 generic if the time calls for it. otherwise, if you're running Level 4 Tuners, you can SS another Zombie from the Deck, change this card back to FD Defense Position, and then Normal Summon a Level 4 Tuner for a generic Synchro. This would be interesting if Earth-Type Zombies actually get their own archetype in the future. There's nothing wrong with this card. Stats are fitting, and OPT and hard OPT are in the right places. Good work.
