ihop
This is returning to a point from page 1 I talked a lot about this around the time Minerva came out but a friend of mine at locals was the first person in Europe to actually play a Minerva (the other Minervas at YCS Rimini, the first European YCS to give out Minervas, went to collectors who didn't play them) and for a month or two won almost literally everything. He won a regional, won a Giant Hand at a non-Konami event comparable in size to a regional and was beating everyone, including some very solid players, at our locals. He also lent the deck to a friend who went to... YCS Kozmo, whatever it was called and lost on the very last round of bubble. Neither of these two are especially good players and none of them had had any real tournament success before, so a better player would have done even better and indeed I think at least one person did top YCS Kozmo with Lightsworn. They didn't even have a second Minerva, which would only have made the deck better. A lot of top players were playing LS on DN as well and winning more or less every game, and tbh it was only a lack of people who owned Minervas (there were less than 100 Minervas in existence before BOSH hit) that stopped it from becoming, IMO, if not the best deck at the time definitely among the top ones. If everyone had had access to LS I think it would have seen very high representation at all levels of play.
