PE:

Once per turn, while "Riffwalker Altanos" is in your other Pendulum Zone: You can reveal 1 monster in your hand; this card's Pendulum Scale becomes equal to the revealed monster's Level +1 (max. 12) until the end of the turn.

ME:

If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. When this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent: You can add 1 "Riffwalker Altanos" from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Riffwalker Sopranus" once per turn. If you control a face-up "Riffwalker Altanos", you can place this card from your field to your Pendulum Zone.

When this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent: You can add 1 "Riffwalker Sopranus" from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Riffwalker Altanos" once per turn. If you control a face-up "Riffwalker Sopranus", you can place this card from your field to your Pendulum Zone.

 

Parts of these designs I really like:

- The single-card-setup play only allows you to Pendulum Summon on your second Main Phase.

- Activating one in your Pendulum Zone counts as controlling it.

- Requires dedication to get out the higher leveled monsters

- Non-permanent scale modification means that getting one killed hurts quite a bit
