When your opponent activates an effect of a Level 8 or higher monster they control when while you control no monsters: Negate the activation, and if you do, banish the monster. Your opponent cannot activate any effects in response to this card's activation.

Seems a little to hard to pull off, but not impossible. First off, your opponent must actually control a level 8 or higher monster. Also, you must control no monsters. Also, the monster has to have an effect. It could go well with some Decks, but not most. Maybe you can change it to a level 4 or higher, or something along those lines.

Yes, very difficult to accomplish despite being a nice way to take down most bosses, given that there's the threat of Xyz Monsters which will not qualify for this card's condition. Seeing that this card also targets, it means it won't be able to work on monsters that can't be targeted.

 

The inability for this card to be responded to is nearly redundant as unless your opponent is running Counter Fairies (and if you do, you're probably trying to hit Van'Dalgyon) you're not very likely to see a Counter Trap that could counter this card.

 

My proposal: Remove the "you control no monsters" limitation, and have this card not target. Locking its responses to LV8+ monsters already narrows its scope enough.
