Draconus297
Alternate Title: A Case Study on Design This was always a cool-looking archetype to me, and it functioned based off of Equip Spells, which is a major plus in my book because (as anyone who knows me is aware) I love Equip Spells. However, it was bogged down by its frankly garbage restriction that its monsters couldn't be Summoned without their respective Equip which meant that, without running several copies of the same Spell, you couldn't equip a Guardian with their own weapon- a really stupid design choice. And then there was the fact that Guardians could never be run pure, because then you could never Summon any of them because you had nothing to equip their Spells to. I had an idea for a "better" version of Guardians, with the monsters' effect being toned down to being unable to be Normal Summoned and the Equip Spells Special Summoning their holders under certain conditions, but even that just seems a little clunky. So, this is a discussion thread on the archetype and possible ways it could've been handled better, in the DM era if you want to keep a lid on things. Guest BGMCANN0N
Also, what about an Equip Spell that gains the name of the other said Equip Spells by sending them from the Deck to the Graveyard (to meet the Guardians limiting condition)? Or a Field Spell that searches the Equip Spell that shares apart of the Guardians name by revealing them in hand and vice versa (hard once per turn on that of course). Just a few ideas to throw out there.
