Dangers of Online communities and Chatting.

Basically, the issue is not one that I support, but I will bring it to attention so that it can be addressed anyway.

The issue is Interweb Safety. Should children be monitored to protect them, even though it invades their privacy? Should they be allowed on the interwebs?

Resolved: The internet can be dangerous, but that does not mean it is in all cases, and that YCM is a generally safe community if you exclude Matt Enloe.

(I must admit i meet my fiance' on msn but we were friend's of friend's plus we when we meet up we were in a park with a big group of friends)

my point is the internet is fine but stupied kids do stupied things

Ha. Now theres something stupid. "I have a fiance'." And i just assume she's still okay with you liking yugioh at a minimum age of 18. I plan to ditch yugioh when im sixteen, if i want a fair chance with a female. Face it, they don't like it, don't conceal the truth.

As for the opinion. Hm. Well, this is were society is contradicting; privacy Vs. Safety. Surely, the latter is more important, as privacy, in instances, leads to illegal actions. Ie, under age porn viewers and the like. If it were up to me, I'd produce a scanner of sorts, mandatory to be in all computers. The scanner scans a barcode on your I.D card, which is also mandatory. When the I.D card is scanned, the only information imprinted in it is your D.O.B, and your computer automatically functions which sites are eligible for access. Monitoring or privacy invasion wouldn't be necessary. (If your wondering, bar codes can be imprinted onto student I.D's, and those under the age of 13 shouldn't even be on computers, as i believe computers have something to do with puberty ^__^) This may seem idiotic; un-idealistic, flawed, and contradicting, as someone may still someone else's card and blah blah, but hey, it is more safer. And yes, im saying chat rooms should be regarded with the same respect we have for adult material sites, and that you can only view them after the age of 18. But, it does stop the jabroniing.

And what can they' date=' the creator of the chat rooms who do NOT want young kids to join, do to stop that? It's impossible until some kind of DNA and age identitifer comes along.

Uhh. It's not like thats what i said or anything. Sheesh, get your own opinion, thus avoiding being like the government.

And age identifiers are flawed, and as with anything, can be avoided, as the only solution anyone can come up with is making a law against it. Pathetic. But it is a two sided issue, as the regular economy child shouldn't try to beat the system. Either way, it's just one of those "Live with it" things.

Nowadays, the internet is used as a media to commit crimes on any level. The best part would be the fact that the one commiting such acts would not be identified immediately.Advancements in the internet does pose a threat to public security, but world-wide communication must still be maintained to "unite" the global community. (which I believe what the internet was intended to do)

As web surfers,we can help ensure the safety of the Web from spammers, cheaters & the like.
