leafbladie
Okay, so when Konami released this card, I was so disappointed, so I decided, let's rewrite this card and make it actually useful for the Blue-Eyes Archetype. So with some reworking this is what I came up with. Krystal DragonDragon-Type/LIGHT/Level 8/ATK 2500/DEF 1000You can reveal this card in your hand, then target 1 Level 1 LIGHT Tuner monster you control; send it to the Graveyard, and if you do, Special Summon this card. Once per turn, during either player's Battle Step, if this card battled: you can add 1 Level 8 Dragon-Type monster from your Deck to your hand. So, what do these changes to. Well first off, as a Level 8, you can make use of Return of the Dragons Lords or Trade-In, key Spell Cards in the Blue-Eyes deck, already making it infinitely more useful. Second, I changed it so you can add a Dragon during either player's battle step, so your opponent will be more inclined to waste resources to destroy it by card effect so you can't search out another Dragon. Finally, I gave it an easier Special Summoning condition that is infinitely useful to the Blue-Eyes archetype. It's not extremely uncommon to sometimes have to end your first turn with a single Sage on the field in attack mode. This gives an alternative, allowing you to send these weaker support cards to the Graveyard to exchange for a stronger beatstick that can search out your Alternatives. The targeting part is to give more reasoning to use Maiden, which I wish was more used in Blue-Eyes decks, but unfortunately has lessened in usage. So, what do you think, would these changes make Krystal Dragon much more usable in the Blue-Eyes archetype?

Dova
Well, the first effect would certainly help Maiden's running, as as you said, its use has waned, but this card certainly brings it out, and also fixes that lone level 1 Tuner problem the deck has again. I know that's what you just said, but just confirming that you did do a goo job in that area. The question is, is that battling effect really worth it? I mean, searching a Level 8 Dragon is really generic, although we all know you're almost certainly gonna be searching for a BE card, but the battle requirement does slow it down a lot. All in all, the fact that it does not require to be losing in the battle and the fact that your opponent has to spend resources getting rid of it is a plus, so all in all, it would be worth running at at least 1, with it being hard to brick with, as it has generic Summoning Conditions. I like it!
leafbladie
Thank you, the big reason I have it is something to use alongside Melody of the Awakening Dragons. Melody helps you make your big plays, so if it's no readily available, and you have an Alternative or Vanilla in the hand alone, they can brick you pretty hard. This thing can also be sent to the Graveyard by Dragon Shrine, and revived with Gospel, so it has more ways to be brought to the field to use its effect, though Melody is stronger.
