The Foolunkers! A Trio of Shortsighted Treasure Hunters...

Hello, future explorers!

With Summer giving me a lot of time to fart around, I've gotten back into creating cards on this site. And, in a streak of boredom, I have created the Foolunkers! My goal with this Archetype is to create a kinda new-age Exodia. The main gimmick is to mill yourself, searching for three cards so you can summon an extremely powerful monster. But, unlike Exodia, these cards can be used against the opponent as well, punishing them for playing extensive combos. You aren't necessarily countering or negating their plays, but slowing down your opponent so you can search for your other cards.

I'm looking for critique, and ways to balance this archetype. I could especially use some help with the editing, and knowing exactly how to word things and what to capitalize. I did the art with a mouse in paint. If I go far in fixing these cards, then I'll use my tablet for the final versions. Please let me know what you guys think, and what I can do to make the both viable and fun! Thank you!

[spoiler=Lore Behind the Cards]

Three treasure hunters join forces to adventure deep within the caverns of The Sleeping Horror. Neglecting a prophecy, one that foretells the day three fools would cause the end of days, they continue to dig underground. For, as legend states, there are treasures enchanted with unlimited power (and wealth). Seeing opportunity, Loft leads her trio deeper and deeper into the caves, desecrating the soothing silence with the echos of shovels and screams. What's it matter? A little digging won't do anything...

I feel obliged to review these. Take your free complementary Card Grammar fix, but be sure to find the OCG guide in the main forum and learn from that in the future. You can never know too much! Changes are in bold!

You may Normal Summon this monster in defense position When this card is Normal Summoned: You can change it to defense position. When this monster is Normal Summoned or destroyed: send the top card of your Deck to the Graveyard; if one of the discarded cards was a Trap:  If it was a Trap Card, add it to your hand, If one of the discarded cards was a Forbidden Treasure: Play it immediately. or if it was a "Forbidden Treasure" Spell Card, you can activate it.

Use the above as a base for your monsters!

Well, Bones is a very generic searcher. Why does it change to defense position? Wish the cards it searched had to be a "Foolunker" Spell/Trap, as it wouldn't hurt to make the Spells/Trap archetypal. Forbidden Treasure effect is a little powerful, but more on that later. McLuck and Loft share the same problem (glad to see someone doing their own art by the way). One thing they do lack, however, is speed. Since they only activate upon Normal Summon and destruction, you're not going to be doing anything except once during your turn and more if you are really lucky on your opponent's.

Just a couple of things of note for now: While the continuous Spells are self-limiting, there is no reason for them to be run at 3 in every deck, except possibly for consistency, as they are essentially a slightly weaker Flare Metal which cannot be removed from the field, so perhaps restrict them to the archetype a bit more? Also, how does the "3 spell/monster effects/traps" effect work? Does it work like I phrased it, or differently?

Keep Digging helps the archetype, I guess, but since you only have 3 Treasures, it's gonna take forever to reach them. Unsure how Snack Break's second effect is supposed to work.

There can only be 1 copy of "The Awakened" in your Extra Deck. This card can only be Special Summoned by its own effect or the effects of a "Forbidden Treasure" card. When this card is Summoned: Your opponent discards their hand and sends their Extra Deck to the Graveyard. Whenever this card is negated, sent to the graveyard or banished: Special Summon it to your side of the field.

Use the above for your boss!

I don't get why you self-limit cards. Surely if you've done that it is too powerful or too easy to get out or both, as no other card in YGO does that. Another thing to note: "Your opponent does x" is different and more powerful than "Do x to your opponent", as certain effects activate only if your opponent does them to you, not if you do them to yourself. Why negated? Have you been seeing too much of Solemn Strike or Warning? All that does destroy it/send it to the Graveyard, the negation is just part of the effect. As the for the card itself, its far too strong, being a virtually invincible boss that decimates your opponent's backup plans, meaning if you go first and bring this out they're dead. While it may be hardish to bring out with each of the Foolish treasures being limited, why do any of these have to be limited in the first place? I get you want to do something lore wise, but you've got to draw the line between that and the actual cards themselves, which is what Advanced is all about (also the meta).

Basically, some very powerful cards with not too much synergy. Build them up and give them a little variation, try to balance the effects, make the powerful ones not need to be limited and the weaker ones a little more powerful and/or varied. Hope this ends up well for you!
