(Written) Ultimate Skull Servant

Zombie / DARK / Fusion

Level: 1

ATK/DEF: 1200/800

Effect: "Skull Servant" + "Skull Servant" + "Skull Servant". You can Fusion Summon this card (You do not need to use "Polymerization") by sending the materials from your hand, Deck and/or field to the Graveyard, but you cannot Special Summon other monsters (Except level 3 or lower Zombie-Type monsters), nor declare an attack the turn you Special Summoned this card this way. This card's name becomes "Skull Servant" while it is in the Graveyard. Once per turn, you can activate 1 of the following effects: (1) Choose 1 Zombie-Type monster in your Deck and 1 Zombie-Type monster in your Graveyard: Send the first monster to the Graveyard, and the other you shuffle into the Deck. (2) Discard 1 card; send 1 Zombie-Type monster from your Deck to your Graveyard.

It's too powerful. You always gotta be careful when you're making support for a large group of cards. Like this, which can send any Zombie to the Graveyard. Say I made a card that says 'Summon 1 FIRE monster from the deck.' Well, there are too many FIRE monsters: some of them have 3000 atk, and some would make great Xyz or Synchro materials to create some huge crazy combos, and some are just not designed to be summoned that easily. You need to get into this 'archetype' thing - making support cards for types and attributes is not the way to go.

This card is almost always live. Allowing it to fuse from the deck means you can (unless you drew one of your Skull Servants) easily summon it on your first turn right off the bat. There's no cost to summon it! Just immediately, 3000 atk King of the Skull Servants! (If you send another guy with this card's effect, it'd be 4000. If you don't have King in your hand and sent Wightprince with this card to summon it, it'd be just 1000.) The one restriction - you cannot attack directly - can be circumvented by going first and summoning this.

Drawing is a very powerful and limited mechanic in Yugioh. I suggest you give your drawing effects a hard once-per-turn, and act with discretion on them.

Don't let it fuse from deck. That's kinda not okay. Future Fusion fuses from deck and got itself banned despite all the restrictions on it.

I don't really see how the atk/def and level of this card fits into the Skull Servant archetype as a whole.

I've played Skull Servants religiously for years, so I hope what I'm about to say has some weight.

Shadowliepard, I hate to say it, but I feel like you've vastly overestimated this card.

You know what else dumps any zombie from the deck? Uni-Zombie. You know what doesn't immediately brick all your Wightprinces, and make your Princess less effective? Uni-Zombie. It already exists.

Dumping 3 vanillas immediately isn't advantage. It makes several cards in your deck completely dead, so there needs to be a damn good effect to make up for it.

The first effect allows you to recycle a vanilla and dump something else. Interesting, but I don't think it's really worth it. Sure, it makes a single Prince live again. That's about it.

Discarding a card to pitch a Mezuki is a nice effect, but I'm still underwhelmed. All that investment, bricking up to 6 cards in your deck, for something that restricts you heavily the turn you summon it, and isn't likely to survive the turn, and the restriction on special summoning means you're going to have a far, far weaker board since you can't Xyz Summon or Synchro Summon into your defensive options.

tl;dr, heavy costs and restrictions on a weak body with no innate protection for an effect Uni-Zombie already does better.

Very interesting comment. I'll change the effect tomorrow.

I'll increase the creature power.

My my, you don't need to change things willy-nilly just to suit us.

I just realized you can fuse from hand. This thing is always live. And no matter how not-quite-broken this card is, that's just not the right way to design a card. No special summoning can be dealt with - many decks nowadays are playing Card of Demise and a ton of trap cards. Drowning Mirror Force and a couple of Solemns will get you to the next turn, at which point you will have 6 Skull Servants in your Graveyard, one being Prince.

Uni-Zombie and this do perform the same thing. But Uni-Zombie needs to be drawn, and it needs a normal summon. Such things limit it but not this card. And if the rest of your deck is dead, then you'd just drop the dead cards. This card is a guaranteed summon, which means you can build the rest of your deck around the fact that you'll almost always have it first turn. What in this game is guaranteed like that? You gotta admit, the existence of a card like this would take Skull Servants in a bad direction.

So yeah, like I said, the fusion from deck ain't okay.

I do not see the point of having those two effects. They both dump a Zombie from the deck, just with different costs. I suggest you take one out. Like the one which is just a rip-off of Uni-Zombie.
