Sluggaholic
Failinis, Wrested from LifeDARK - Level 6 - Beast-type Synchro Monster1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monstersThis card is treated as Zombie-type while on the field or in the Graveyard. This card cannot be destroyed by battle, and if it attacks a Zombie-type monster: destroy it after damage calculation. Once per turn, during either player's turn, you can discard 1 card: target 1 Zombie-type monster in your Graveyard and 1 card in your opponent's Graveyard; Special Summon that first target, and if you do, banish the second.ATK 2100/DEF 2100 - - - - - I enjoy turning really good Spells into decent monsters can you tell? Black D'Sceptyr
My goodness, you sure you appropriated a Spell to make this and not every Main Deck Infernoid ever (SYKE they get off from banishing those Zombies do.) Starting the clock now. Good Level 6 half Zombie-half Beast Synchro without that added xenophobia, so you know Shiranuis, Fabled, Infernoids (hell ANY Synchro-capable deck that hates Graveyard abuse, SO ALL OF THEM) may find space for 1 of it. Cyber Dragon-level power? GREAT. But it's both ways tho, so a bit of the Zombie SYNERGY! trips on its way out the door. And attacking through other Zombies like a butter knife is fantastic with Zombie World...but that means you have to PLAY Zombie World, so....(probably, it does impede Monarchs) not. And finally, there's its "Once per turn, BOOK OF LIFE!" effect that I feel might need SOME restriction to keep from being wholly busted. Graveyard hatred is wondrous, but bringing back a Zombie may need some restrictions - especially since it's NOT HOPT, can easily include itself if you run copies (hello Fairy Knight Ingunar) and can include the card you discarded to activate its effect. Really, this ability's so strong I'd add in that that would be the only time this DUEL you'd be able to summon each monster it brings out. (You know, because of being wrested from life and all.) Otherwise, it's a rather unique take on a rather underused card in the Zombie world (not Zombie World) in Book of Life. I tip my hat. (First I have to get one those, already getting to single digit weather in here, its like my ears are about to commit hara-kiri...)
leafbladie
While I doubt it was intentional, I love that it's a Beast-Type that's strong against Zombies, as it reminds me of Dungeon Dice Monsters, where that was the case. Kind of wish the battle destruction was instead something like "This card cannot leave the field, unless destroyed by battle" or something, as it'd tie together very well with cards like "Zombie World", but hey, any protection is better than no protection, and it's decent in the "Kozmo" matchup since they only have 1 DD now. Though, that destruction effect is too slow in today's meta, or even past formats. Destroying a monster after damage calculation, and only if they're of a certain-type is not good, I mean even "Ally of Justice Core Destroyer" destroys a LIGHT monster before Damage Calculation, even if it's the one being attacked, and well, if an effect is outclassed by an "Ally of Justice" monster, that's a problem. That second effect is pretty good though, whether it's against Blue-Eyes, ABC, or any other such Deck, it's always nice to banish stuff from the Graveyard where a lot of set-up happens nowadays, and it ultimately netting you more Synchro material is nice. The discard cost seems a bit steep, but I guess it is necessary since it can interrupt your opponent's plays, and it has precedence with cards like "Zombie Master".
