The journey of self is based around people finding out about who they are come each point and turn. People are put to tests to figure themselves out, getting a better handle on how they represent themselves. Along that journey, personality breaks through; the individuality is shown. From this, the most genuine and beautiful aspect of the world is seen. The look, natural view, and pure happiness reflect upon the realest form of self, the true person is seen.

 

As the YCM Presidential Candidate for the Aesthetics Party, my primary goal is to help each person reach this level of life where they can strive to find happiness and joy in who they are and how they want to view themselves.  I want people to be proud of who they are and being willing to show that off to the world without fear or hate being shown to them. Show off your true beauty.

 

My stance on policies:

 

YCM Community and Hostility

The community is instilled with negative attitude, each trying to have their voices heard but feeling attacked along the way. We have to be open to hearing people’s ideas and try to understand them rather than push them away and act like it was never there in the first place. Even those who attack themselves, we cannot just let that happen, but try to reconcile and learn. Openness, respect, and desire to learn from one another is how to break hostility and grow a community.

 

YCM Site-wide Activity

Site-wide activity is going to be based around people wanting to take part in what they want to be a part of. Allow others to get involved in what would help them to take on new challenges and grow, even learn and adopt it in their lives. Inspire people to take on new objectives and challenges, while helping them become better at it.

 

YCM Site-wide Rulings and their Applications

The YCM rulings are structured. They needed to be presented to the community before anything is set in stone. Riots and fervor has accumulated toward this, while people acting out without rationale for the Mods having power before presenting it to the people. Bring forth ideas of change and get members to understand why it is coming, do not just instill the fact that it already occurred and is set in stone.

 

YCM Moderation and their Applications

The moderation team does not work in unison, but rather divided and in control of their own territory. This secludes each other and promotes irrational punishments being handed from those who we would think to do otherwise. The mods need to be a team and punishment should be given how the team sees fit, rather than given off single handedly. The option to refute this exists, but that should only come up when a clear decision has been made and not agreed with. Not when abuse occurs and there is no way to do anything about but refute the problem.

 

YCM Site-wide Contests and Contest Activity

Contests are decreasing in popularity. If people do not want to be involved in them, then there is no reason to push them to do so. The system of contests is also the same and doesn’t provide inspiration to grow and change. If contests were to be something more prominent, then it would lead to a need to change the system as is into something that would inspire competition and growth.

 

YCM Maturity and Explicit Content (including filters)

The site is legitimized toward a certain age group, one that does not explicit promote the idea of passion and love the way that others would. People should have the freedom to be into what they are, but expressing that freedom shouldn’t be without consequences if it promotes ill-advised content from reaching out, within defining the aspect of beauty that is there.

 

YCM Bugs and User Interface Clean-up

YCM has history with not changing to when the time comes. We have kept Christmas Lights on the site until April. The 2^nd YCM skin is problematic with alignment to the site. There are issues with all of it, but that is part of the reason why YCM is what is it. That is all part of YCM’s aesthetic. I would only work to clean it up with positioning and have lights on the YCM logo all year. The colors would change to the season.
