Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's: Queen of Hearts

Hello! I''m YRPOtaku! I'm still kinda new to the site, but my friend Ace Daimon and I decided to make a fanfic here at the request of a couple of old friends. So here is the prologue of Queen of Hearts:

 

The year is 2103. Earth is dying. Global warming, several nuclear detenations, and an asteroid impact have dealt a triple-whammy on Earth's ecosystem. Scientists predict that Earth will be completely uninhabitable before the end of the millenium. What nations are left after the aftermath of the "Century of Chaos" are trying desperately to figure out a way to evacuate Earth in time. The United States of America, or the United States of North America ever since Canada and Mexico fell into a state of semi-anarchy during the "Century of Chaos" and left the USA to pick up the pieces, have reorganized under a state of semi-martial law. Many legendary cities are gone; victims of global warming. And the magical community, which has been mostly pushed into other planes of existance for centuries, is in an uproar over a hole in Earth's magical barrier around the Earth. The barrier, which has prevented creatures from other planets from invading Earth, is now compromised. The magical races have also united under a common banner to secure the now unstable region of Obispo, once part of the Old State of California. And a group of creatures, which have consumed countless worlds, finally have a chance to take the heart of one of the most powerful worlds in the universe.

But most of these things are important right now. What is important is the tale of a girl in the city of Puertoalto in the New State of Obispo, and how she discovered her destiny.

Here's Chapter 1!

 

Turn 1: Start the Race of Destiny!

 

The city of Puerto Alto in the New State of Obispo is best described as a "municipal planner's worst nightmare". Construction began in 2052 near Salinas after the aftershocks of the Apophis impact in 2029 died down, the rising tides had somewhat receded, and the political infrastructure was re-stabilized. The city was built by the Army Corps of Engineers in accordance with the National Reconstruction Act of 2051, with the help of a local politician who learned everything he needed to know about city planning from "SimCity 6000", for some of the 9.7 million refugees that fled the San Joaquin Valley, now the San Joaquin Strait, in the 2030's and 2040's. By the time the city and its primary suburbs were completed in 2064, the city was filled beyond capacity. The city's combination of constant construction and reconstruction from increasingly common natural disasters, labyrinthine street network, and the fact that Industrial Illusions, the creators of Duel Monsters, the world's most popular game, have their world headquarters in the city makes Puerto Alto a paradise for duelists of all kinds, especially riding duelists.

But this trivia isn't as important as what is about to happen at the local high school.

1514 Local Time: Arnold Schwarzenegger Memorial High School

"Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha! I can't believe you want to try again, Kisaki! What is this? Number 93?" chuckled a raven-haired boy with glasses conclealing jade-green eyes and a Neos T-Shirt as he mounted a purple motorcycle-like vehicle. "It's 87 times, Sage! And this time, it WILL be different!" shouted a girl in a blue and red leather outfit with a similarly-colored conical helmet on a boxy multicolored motorcycle. A younger kid with blonde hair and blue eyes with multiple grease stains on both his Carhart overalls and his face ran out in between the two racers and shouted, in a distinct Southern drawl, "Duelists, start yer D-Wheels!". The duelists each pressed a green button as their D-Wheels revved up. Suddenly, the surrounding background acquired a bluish tint. The gathering crowd, after a few seconds, started shouting "3...", "2...", "1...", "...Go!", and the duelists blasted out of the school courtyard and into the streets.

"I draw!" shouted Sage as he made a sharp left turn. "I Summon Breaker, the Magical Warrior, in Attack Mode!" Suddenly, a red- armored warrior appears beside Sage's D-Wheel. (Breaker:1600 ATK/1000 DEF). A circular stone on Breaker's shield starts to glow purple. "Breaker's special effect activates! He gains a Spell Counter and 300 ATK!" (1900/1000). "I also set 2 face-down cards and I end my turn!" (Sage's LP:4000).

"I draw!" cried Kisaki as she narrowly avoided a very old car. "I am now going to Summon a card I got recently! I summon Keyblader Sora!" A young boy appears next to Kisaki in midair. He has sandy-brown hair, ocean-blue eyes, and an odd set of clothes. (1500/1000).

"I activate his special ability! I cam search my Deck for a Equip Spell Card with "Keyblade" in its name and equip it onto Sora! Spellbinder, come!" Sora reaches his right hand up towards the sky, and a blue weapon with odd markings and a glowing blue orb on the end.

"Spellbinder increases Sora's ATK/DEF, but lowers the ATK/DEF of all of your monsters!" (Sora:1900/1400). (Breaker:1800/900). I also activate Speed Spell - Beckoning Wind!" (Kisaki's LP:3500).

A sudden gust of golden sparks passes by. "I can pay 500 Life Points to Special Summon my Magical Trevor from my hand! Go, Trevor!" On the magical wind apears a little white-robed man with a red beard and beady eyes. (Trev:1300/1000).

"Sora, attack! Strike Raid!" Sora grasps Spellbinder with both hands, heaves it to the side, then lets it fly towards Breaker, hitting him dead on. Breaker then topples over, seems to be falling down in slow motion, and vanishes in a burst of light. (Sage's LP:3900). "Now Trevor, attack Sage's Life Points directly! Clever Trick!" Kisaki shouts. Trevor searches in his robe's pockets, finds a purple cloak, puts himself underneath it, then, a few seconds later, the cloak is blown away....with nothing underneath! Sage looks very confused, until he turns to his side and gets a face full of pie! (Sage's LP:2600). "I set 2 cards face-down and I end my turn!" Kisaki yells as she places two cards on her dueling blade.

"My turn! I draw!" cries Sage. "I have never seen those cards before. from what I remember, even with the dozens of thousands of different cards, the 3 face-up cards you have on your field, Kisaki, they don't exist! Are you cheating, my little companion? Well, I was going to go easy on you, but I never go easy on cheaters! I activate Pitch-Black Power Stone!" A large black sphere with gold engravings appears next to Sage. "I also Summon Skilled Dark Magician in Attack Mode!" A magician with balck robes and armor also appears. (1900/1700)->(1800/1600). "I will now transfer Pitch-Black Power Stone's 3 Spell Counters to my Skilled Dark Magician!" Pitch-Black Power Stone gets 3 cracks on it, then it shatters into dust as 3 purple orbs on Skilled Dark Magician's armor glow and light up. Then, SKM points his staff towards the sky and a beam of golden light appears. "Now I can release my Skilled Dark Magician to Special Summon a Dark Magician from my Deck!" SKM is dissolved into the beam of light, and a purple-armored figure steps out of the beam. (2500/2100)->(2400/2000) "Now I activate my own Speed Spell - Beckoning Wind! I pay 500 Life Points to Special Summon Dark Resonator from my deck!" (Sage's LP:2100). A hooded creature with golden orbs on its back floats down from a golden wind. (1300/300)->(1200/200). "Now I discard my Quiet Insect from my hand to decrease the Level of Dark Resonator by 1! Now I can Synchro Summon my ultimate monster! The card YOU have never seen before because I took pity on you an didn't use it, but since you aren't holding back, Kisaki, then I don't see a reason for me to have to!" Dark Resonator's orbs start glowing as he leaps into the air. Dark Magician also floats up as Dark Resonator dissolves and releases 2 green rings that hover horizontally in front of Sage. Dark Magician dives into the center of the rings and turns into 7 motes of light that combine to create a beam of light that shoots out a completely black figure with black armor, a black cape, and black weapons. (3150/3000)->(3050/2900). "I Synchro Summon Darkest Knight Magician, a card that the CEO of Industrial Illusions let me design myself when a won a contest years ago!"

"I also activate Call of the Haunted! That lets me bring back my Dark Magician from my Graveyard!" Dark Magician pops out of a fresh grave that just materialized beside Sage. "My magicians, attack the cheater and teach her a lesson!" The two magicians start to attack when they are stopped by a spinning barrier of colorful energy. "What?!?!" "Not, so fast, Sage!" Kisaki cries. "I activate my Negate Attack! I have another turn now!" "Alright" Sage grumbled. "I end my turn.""

"Come on, deck!" Kisaki cried. "Give me something useful!" She draws a familiar card that has a picture of a blonde girl in a blu and red suit with a conical helmet. "Yes! Just the card I need! I activate Painful Choice!" Five cards appear in front of Sage. "Pick the card you want to go to my hand! The rest are discarded!" "I pick Card Ejector!" Sage yells. "Hiita, Eria, Aussa, and Wynn can go to the Graveyard for all I care, but how will this help you?" He chuckles. "You'll see!" replies Kisaki. "Now I activate Keychain Exchange!" Sora's Spellbinder disappears into a swirling vortex of darkness.

"Now Sora can get a new Keyblade from my Deck! Come, Oblivion!" Sora reaches into the vortex and pulls out a black Keyblade with winglike handles. (Sora:1900/1400)->(1500/1000)->(2600/2100). (Dark Magician:2400/2000)->(2500/2100)->(1800/1400). (DKM:3050/2900)->(3150/3000)->(2450/2300).

"I, unfortunately, have to discard 2 cards from my Deck to activate Oblivion, so I discard Daraka the Dark Charmer and Magician's Valkyria! I now release Magical Trevor to Special Summon Dark Magician Girl from my hand!" Trevor pulls out his magical cloak and puts it on himself, but, when the cloak comes off, the familiar girl appears instead. (Dark Magician Girl:2000/1700). "I now activate my Angel Lift Trap Card!" Trevor floats down from the sky on angel wings that dissolve as soon as he reaches Kisaki's D-Wheel. Then Trevor pulls out his magical wand and vanishes, leaving behind 2 green rings, which Dark Magician Girl flies in to and dissolves into 6 balls of light. "I now Synchro Summon my own ace card! Come forth, Mana!" The lights form a beam that fires out a young girl with fiery-red clothing that looks like DMG, but older and more mature. (Mana:2500/2200).

1 Tuner monster + 1 non-Tuner Spellcaster-type monster

This monster can only be Synchro Summoned by the above monsters. When this monster is successfully Synchro Summoned, add 1 Spell Card from your Deck, Graveyard, or Removed from Play Zone to your Hand. Increase the ATK/DEF of this monster by 300 for each Spellcaster-type monster in both player's Graveyards. During each player's Standby Phase, that player has to remove a Monster Card from their Graveyard from play. When this monster is destroyed, Special Summon 1 "Dark Magician Girl" from your hand, Deck, Graveyard, or Removed from Play Zone.

"Now Mana gains 300 ATK/DEF for each Spellcaster in both of our Graveyards! There are 9 Spellcasters total in our Graveyards,so she gains 2700 ATK/DEF" (Mana:2500/2200)->(5200/4900). "Sora, attack Dark Magician with Strike Raid!" Sora throws Oblivion towards Dark Magician, who bursts into dark flames. (Sage's LP:1300). "Now, Mana! Use your Forbidden Magic! Continuum Banisher!" Mana charges rainbow waves of energy around her staff, which then fires at Darkest Knight Magician and causes him to rapidly de-age back into his basic components, which then explode in a brillinat flash of light. (Sage's LP:0). "No! This can't be! I can't lose!" wailed Sage as his D-Wheel slowed down and stopped. Kisaki's pulled up beside him and she took off her helmet, revealing turquoise eyes, fair reddish-blonde hair, and a slight tan. "You taught me to never give up, Sage. I think that is the only thing I have ever learned from your 'teaching'. Now, I will show you that my cards aren't fakes if you tell me how I can find out where they came from." "You don't even know where you got these cards?" queried Sage as he scanned over the cards. "These cards are very mysterious. They don't have any sort of identification. No markings. Nothing. They aren't even made of paper. They are made of some...unknown material. I work at Industrial Illusions now part time, as you already know, Kisaki. I'll try to get you an appointment." "Thanks, Sage" said Kisaki as she put her helmet back on, powered her D-Wheel up, and rode off into the sunset.

It was pretty good. I just suggest that you separate your paragraphs and characters better.

 

Also, there's a major problem with your Synchro monster. Dark Resonator is a level 3 monster, and Dark Magician is a Level 7 monster. That means a Tuner using them should be a level 10 monster.

 

The OCG on your cards also needs a little help, but great work ^^

Slayer Supreme, if you read Turn 1 like you were supposed to instead of skimming, you would have noticed that Sage discarded Quiet Insect from his hand before he Synchro Summoned. Quiet Insect is a card that was just released in Japan that allows you to lower a monster's Level by 1 by discarding it from your hand, making Dark Resonator's Level become 2. And, as everyone should know, 2+7=9! Read next time!

Hi! I'm Kisaki Kyougi! Y-Tak based the main character of the fanfic off of me and my love of Kingdom Hearts. I created some of the cards you saw in Turn 1. I just dialed in to let you guys know about Heartless Monster Cards.

Heartless Monster Cards, like their in-game counterparts, come in many different forms. There is the standard Shadow:

They may not look like much, but in a Heartless Deck, they can swarm like crazy! Heartless Monster Cards also have a few special effects. Usually, they are listed on the cards, like so:

(Note:Behemoth's effect is that it can't attack the same turn it was Normal, Flip, or Special Summoned. The rest are standard.)

But here is a complete list of Heartless Monster Card Rules:

1. They can't be Special Summoned from the Graveyard. (Pride Rule)

2. They can't be destroyed by battle, except through battle with a LV7 or higher monster or a monster that has "Royal" or "Keyblader" in its name, or a monster can be equipped with a card that can destroy Heartless Monster Cards, but they will be featured in a future chapter. (Sloth Rule)

3. They can't be destroyed by card effects, but there are cards, like I mentioned before, that negate that effect. (Envy Rule)

4. They count as all the sacrifices needed to Advance Summon a Heartless Monster. (Greed Rule)

5. There has to be a DARK monster or another Heartless Monster on the field at the same time as a Heartless Monster, or the Heartless Monster is destroyed. In other words, a Heartless Monster can't be on the field by itself or with a non-DARK monster. (Lust Rule)

6. A Heartless Monster MUST attack a LIGHT monster, or a monster with "Royal" or "Keyblader" in its name. (Wrath Rule)

7. Heartless Monsters count as Tuner Monsters for Synchro Summons. (Gluttony Rule)

As you see, each of the 7 rules has to do with the 7 Deadly Sins. (Don't ask me how Gluttony relates to Tuner Monsters! Ace Daimon came up with this!) Keep this rules in mind as Kisaki, Mana, Sora, and their friends face off against these creatures.

Chapter 1: Look at 'im now, it's magical Trevor! The tricks that he does are ever so clever. Look at him now, disappearing the cow. Where is the cow headed right now? Oh, and Mana is epic win, or at least she would be if not for that ATK increase effect.
