[Written] Masked HERO Vapor (errata)

So of all the Masked HERO's none are more useless to me than Vapor. It's only immune to effect destruction, but at a pitiful 2400 it's probably not staying long. The best use for it is to Form Change Dark Law to avoid Raigeki, but even then, that's not much, and it might honestly be better to just let it die and save Form Change for later to possibly OTK.

 

Anyway, thinking about it also made me think about another rather useless WATER Attribute HERO, Neo Bubbleman. A weird gimmicky card that required you to use Metamorphosis to summon, it seemed almost like a precursor for Masked HEROs along with NEX. Then it hit me, what if I combined the two and gave it battle protection akin to Bubble Blaster, and that's how this idea was born.

 

Masked HERO Vapor

Warrior-Type/WATER/Level 6/ATK 2400/DEF 2000 (Fusion)

Must be Special Summoned with "Mask Change", and cannot be summoned by other ways. Cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects, also you take no damage from battles involving this card. After damage calculation, when this card battles an opponent's monster: You can destroy that monster.

It's a well done retrain IMO. Nice to see that you put an extra effect with a the somewhat flavorful nod to Neo Bubbleman instead of stopping at improving the original effect.

 

But, I would say Goka is among the useless Masked HEROes, too. Plus FIRE HEROes have it worse since Goka is their only Masked HERO option.
