Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. When a monster(s) you control is destroyed (by battle or card effect) and sent to your Graveyard: You can Special Summon this card (from your hand), and if you do, equip the destroyed monster(s) to this card. This card gains DEF equal to double the combined DEF of the monsters equipped to it by this effect. If this card would be destroyed or banished: You can destroy a spell card equipped to this card instead, and if you do, destroy 1 card on the field. You can only control 1 "Kintsugi of a Thousand Scars".

Another random card I thought of. This one is pretty niche, as it's purely a defensive card that doesn't really advance your gamestate. Again, another card meant for a slower meta. This card is based off kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing pottery as the creation of art. It acts as a gigantic wall that you summon whenever your field is wiped out from something like Raigeki or Dark Hole, and is meant to be somewhat difficult to get over. If the opponent does try to remove it, you can decrease its DEF by destroying a monster equipped to it instead, which in turn allows you to destroy any card on the field (this does not target). Basically a big wall.

TIP: When you send the equipped monsters to the Graveyard, it also triggers and float effects they may have, which can be useful. You can also find a way to swap the DEF and ATK of this card and make it a big beatstick instead.

An issue I see in this card is that destruction redirection effects are continuous and don't start a chain, but in this card not only it does, also has an effect bound to it. You may have to take an approach like Zenmaines, in that the protection effect is continuous, and then the other effect activates when that protection effect is used.

That aside, this looks like a solid card for casual play to me. Should be effective as a wall that discourages the opponent from destroying it given its non-targeting destruction effect. I can still be spun, bounced, etc., but that's fair: it shouldn't be proof from everything. I was wondering why it was a Level8 Rock and if that made it get any noteworthy support, but then I read the flavor explanation, which makes sense. And I guess Rocks can use it for Rank8 plays along... Gaia Plate? plus, it is searchable by Block Dragon.
