Type: Equip Spell

 

Effect:
The equipped monster is changed to face-up Defense Position. The equipped monster gains 500 DEF, and can attack while in Defense Position. If the equipped monster attacks while in Defense Position, apply the ATK of the equipped monster for damage calculation. If the equipped monster is forced to change to Attack Position, this card is destroyed.

 

The name popped into my head as a joke card, but then I realized it could actually be a really neat utility card. Granted, in the meta, Equip Spells don't really see much use unless they're used specifically for a Deck's style, but there are some archetypes that could benefit from this card. Specifically, any archetype that relies on attacking opponents directly, or stall decks, could change their monsters into Life Point shields in case their opponent whips out powerful monsters.

I think instead of the DEF buff being 500 it should be equal to the ATK of the equipped monster for a bit more playability. I would also change it to a Trap card, since you could turn it into pseudo battle protection, but that isn't quite nessecary.

 

This is a cool card. Should've been in the battle packs.
