Well you and browarod are great at moving or locking the Topics so no complaint there. Also the Whole IMG Tag rule is a great addition, helping to weed out the Worse cards. I often help browarod via messenger to find the Topics with No IMG Tags, browarod normally kindly makes them into IMG Tags as well.

What i think is that, when you do remove, since the majority of these threads here do not have attachments. Is yes, leave a message, therefore, you or any other mod. wont have to worry about attachment.s not only that, buy attach. slow down computers.

I must agree with OCG. As far as activeness and caring for the site and its members go you're up at the top.

 

I do believe that the program you and Browarod have launched is one of the few good things that have happened to Realistic Card Section since 2007. Of course there are great cards, but the amount of bad or ignorant members that are hard headed and do not want to learn is incredulous and your plan is slowly but surely putting a stopper on the amount.

well, for the abbrieviate (still don't know how to spell it) thing it's just, there is a lot of contests that still say PLZ JOINZ or PLZ U COMMENT PLZ!!!!! or something of that nature in opening contest statements and many posts saying join use text too, For example: a guy that wanted to join a contest that I was looking at posted: U sck cause u insult the gods. here r meh cards and i will winz. also, with that opinion said I'd also like to add 'No writing in only caps' to my first post.

 

Also, in another contest I saw a guy who had... poor grammar. wasn't talking "Text Language" but still spoke bad.

 

Every post after that said something like: Yeah, you can talk. Look at the grammar rule. And my personal favorite: YOu Suck at Grammar.

Well in my opinion DJ I would think the new rules are good because they are making the people not forget the credits for artists(part from the people who don't read the rules) etc.

In all honesty i am, i actually have gone off liking this forum abit now, its just purely the fact that there are so many people that lack common sense, and i swear lots of members break rules on purpose just to be annoying.

 

But annoyance and stress comes with the job of Moderator ^_^

I liked it better when you could post your cards with a disclaimer instead of having to post the actual name of the person who created the image.

 

I think that you are working too hard, and you should make more cards instead of stressing yourself out. There are 4 Custom Cards Moderators, you should have fun sometimes.

If your talking about Moderator duties I say you should premote 1 or 2 mods to Super Mods. Tkill93 and YCMaker are the only real powerful active people and this forum needs a lot of attention.

It did amaze me no-one spotted that sooner ^_^

 

The only thing which equals a locked thread is no credits or disclaimer of valid reason at all, or if something just says 'from google'.

 

Its ok to just say a disclaimer, but its for your OWN GOOD that you credit the artists;

 

as if a DA member comes on here to see there artwork not credited then it will be YOUR throat they jump down, not anyone elses.

 

Its for your own good you credit, as stated;

 

if a DA member complains about images of which have not been credited / have not got a valid reason for not crediting, then those cards / images will be removed.

Overall, an excellent job. Reading the suggestions of others I think I can propose two viable solutions to the problems here but I don't know what the ability limits of each Moderator Group is on this forum so you might need to bump these two ideas up to a higher level for consideration.

 

1. It's been said, but I think the point got a little lost in translation. I believe that any forum in which you can post cards(Realistic, Pop Culture, Contests, and so on) should have the Member ability to attach files removed from the abilities mask(whatever it's called here). You're pretty much garanteed that nobody will post attachments...if they don't have the option in the 1st place. I can see how this is useful in some of the forums...but I can see where the removal of this ability in other forums would go a long way towards fixing the situation. It's also less work for the Moderators if this thing suddenly became impossible. It's one less thing to have to police.

 

2. As for the suggestion made by The Virus. I don't think a rule against this kind of thing would work out at all since most of the offenders....can't read anyways. A way to remedy this would be to go into the word replacement filters which are usually used for profanities on most forums and simply input the most commonly misspelled words into the database. Something like this would be a rather large project to initially assemble...but I'm certain people who feel strongly about this would help out. Examples would be...

 

PLZ = Please

b = be

u = you

JOINZ = join

sck = suck

r = are

teh = the

i = I

winz = wins

!!! = !

 

Also, if this forum has the ability, you could switch on the CAPS OPTION. This would prevent people from using X amount of capitalized letters in a row.

I do not think locking all threads that breaks the rules is the way. How can members change their faults when we just lock the threads without pointing them out?

I think you or someone else should make an OCG guide, as i know alot of members struggles with that. (Including me)

If they read the rules to start with which is common sense, they wouldnt produce errors and faults to start with ^_^
