(Written) Living Weapn Equip Spell

Recommended Posts

Players of MTG know what is about to go down. This thread is all about equip spells that requires no master nor wielder(s). Inspired by the living weapon mechanic from MTG and The Stand User Anubis (the sword) during the stardust crusader arc.

Example of living weapon

Artifact — Equipment

Living weapon (When this Equipment enters the battlefield, create a 0/0 black Germ creature token, then attach this to it.)

Equipped creature gets +/-X/+/-X and/or blah and/or etc.

Anubis is a minor antagonist featured in Stardust Crusaders. He is unique in being a userless Stand who can possess anyone who wields it (the sword), and repeatedly tries to kill the Joestar Group's members in Egypt.

Living Possessed - Anubis, Master of the Underworld

There are many things wrong with this card

  • "before this card resolves" does not exist
  • Quick effect do not exist on Equipe spells
  • PSCT:

Living Possessed - Anubis, Master of the Underworld

When this card is activated before this card resolves, (this is a quick-effect): Special Summon 1 "Possessed Token" (Fiend/EARTH/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0) and equip it with this card in Attack Position or Defense Position. I made it equip to the token you summoned in light of your inspiration, and you seem to have an effect to change the monster it's equipped to anyways.

The effect of cycling a card, while not technically wrong, should not do it all as a cost, you should make the drawing part the effect or both the drawing and shuffling. I do not believe there is a precedent for drawing as a cost.

Also, the last effect heavily implies an Archetype, but you only have 1 card. I would advise making an effect more suited to a 1 off card that the current effect.

For the card itself, I almost want to say it's a bad card, but it does a lot for certain decks

Synchro/Link decks often run "Garnets" on their deck that they don't want to draw so this card offers a way to put them back into the deck and draw a card. It's also searchable by Hidden Armory and those decks can survive without a normal so it's decently consistent

It swaps control to other monsters so if you play it right you can keep it on the field for multiple turns and keep cycling cards.

The token is great for extending Link plays since you can activate it anytime, regardless if you control a monster or not.

It's also a target for Isolde which is great since a lot of other equip spells just don't end up being practical.
