The 4 Horsemen

[Dramatic Crossroad]

Hey, people. 

I'm sure there have been a lot of these made (this theme is kinda beating a dead horse at this point, pun intended), however i had to take my spin on things and i wanted to take a chance at something wild. 

I imagined these would be 4 unique and mysterious Darkness Rarity cards used by villains/antagonists and each has conditions and possess a threat of harm to the user (kinda like the cursed/dark cards in GX - The Reaper & CyberDark). Imagine them as specially crafted by Darkness himself (Nightshoud for dubz) or something like that - hence the outrageous effects.

 

The 4 Horseman - Doom (DARK)

(i know it's supposed to be Death, but i know it's a forbidden word in the TCG)

Rank 4 [ Zombie / Xyz / Effect ] ATK 2500 / DEF 1000 

2 Level 4 monsters
Must be Xyz Summoned by its effect and cannot be Summoned by other ways. 
When a card or effect is activated that would destroy all cards on the field: Xyz Summon this card using the above Materials; negate that effect and destroy all other cards on the field.
You can Summon "The 4 Horsemen - Doom" only once per duel. 

 

 

The 4 Horseman - War (FIRE)

Level 8 [ Warrior / Fusion / Effect ] ATK 2500 / DEF 1000 

2 monsters
Must be Fusion Summoned by its effect and cannot be Summoned by other ways.
 When 2 or more monsters you control are destroyed by your opponent's effect and sent to the GY:
 You can banish 2 of those monsters and "Polymerization" or "Fusion" Spell from your GY; Fusion Summon this card,
 then destoy monsters your opponent controls up to the number of monsters  destroyed by your opponent's effect (except Tokens).
 You can Summon "The 4 Horseman - War" only once per duel.

You wouldn't believe it, but literally I just came back from searching some images to make a gif card of my own, and then I found this topic! O_O Talk about coincidences. Anyway, what I'm seeing here with Doom/Death is a card with extremely hard conditions to meet, and with the lethal restriction of can only be summoned once per Duel. I don't know, man, War at least is much more manageable since you only need stuff in the GY, and effects that destroy 2+ monsters aren't that scarce, but Doom looks almost impossible to Summon. I have a doubt, though: When you say "that would destroy all cards on the field", that doesn't necessarily mean a card with the power to destroy everything, but something that would destroy what's in the field, right?, like a freaking Remove Trap destroying a face-up Trap that's alone on the field xD. That would make things much easier, but still, I'm seeing it pretty hard, you needn't the once per Duel clause. I have an idea, but I don't know if you'd like it: let them have those effects, and they can only be summoned once per Duel in that way. Otherwise, they can be summoned normally, and maybe they could be given an additional mild effect so they're not totally useless when summoned again, leaving the decent ATK aside.

I noticed i missed adding the Xyz Materials on the card itself so i was gonna rework it either way. What would be a more reasonable summoning requirement iyo?

Must first be Xyz Summoned by its effect.  When your opponent activates a card or effect that includes "destroy all" in its text: Xyz Summon this card using the above Materials; negate that card and destroy it, then you can apply that card's destruction effect as this card's effect. You can use this effect of "The 4 Horsemen - Doom" once per duel. 

OPD clause only on the initial summoning + optional Mystical Refpanel on that destruction effect.

Mmm... destroy all... it's in these cases when I'd love to be able to install YGOPro in my chromebook, according to Redro, by simply typing part of an effect, all the cards with that wording appear instantly. That way, we could immediately know if this change if for the better or not, although right now i'm thinking of Raigeki, Torrential Tribute, Lighting Storm, but there are a ton more. The problem I'm seeing in the above wording is that now Doom takes the effect of the destroying card, and if that card includes destroying all monsters on the field, that will include Doom itself, compared to the previous version when it avoided its own destruction. Also, it's pretty rare to see an Xyz who doesn't use its materials, and since it has power over death:

Once per turn, if this card was not Summoned by own effect: You can detach 1 material from this card, then target 1 Zombie monster in your GY that was destroyed by battle the previous turn; Special Summon it, but negate it's effects.

Just a random idea, so you have an effect when it's summoned by its own effect, and the detaching effect when it's not

i dont think OPD restriction is needed in either in effect or summoning. these are rather reactive card with not so easy to fulfill (again reactive) summon condition

Doom its pretty much a expensive version of Stardust Dragon that trap you in reserving 2 random level 4 monster that actually can be invested in better cards. while War is clunkier (albeit faster) version of Fire King High Avatar Garunix that doens't really even up your minus since it skip on Token which practically can be use by your opponent to jump start their oppression
