Christopher Crismon
I posted a few days ago with my first card creation. I have since worked on completing my set of 3 New Egyptian God Cards. I want to start this off by saying that these are very rough drafts and I am not set with the names (although I do want one to focus on Set) and I am trying to make them unique while still holding on to part of what makes the God Cards special. I do not plan to put all three original God Cards in one deck and I do not plan on putting all three of my created ones in one deck for fun either. I have long felt that that is too much and too taxing on a deck. I need help fine tuning these two card's abilities and names. I am having a hard time not putting too much of Slifer and Obilisk into them. Ideas and thoughts? I added the Winged Serpent of Isis' final version for reference to what I ended up doing for that completed card and to show some of what I like in Divine-Beasts. (The Winged Serpent of Isis is complete. It is posted here for reference to how I built it and my inspiration for these other two.) Thank you all in advance for your help. Horu
Ok. So Sek is Sobek and Sha is Set. Sek makes sense on part that it is based on the Crocodile God and pretty much comes from the depths of the nile to devour whatever poor soul happens to be there. Sha already hits the field with 1000 ATK. Now in today's game, Sha can have literally the highest base ATK of any monster in the game, standing at a potential 12000 ATK. The drawback is this: Your opponent can effectively cut that power in half. This isn't a bad thing though. Also, it only has targeting protection. So cards like Dark Hole and Raigeki can still hit it. Another downfall it has is the only card that can bring it back from the grave is Monster Recovery. I liked the way it gets its Atk but I wondered if it was actually too weak. As far as the magic and trap targeting thing, I am wondering about changing that to say "This card cannot be destroyed by battle". That would allow it to be targeted by all kinds of spells and traps while helping with the weaker aspect of its ways of building its Atk stat. Or simply remove the special summoning only rule allowing it to be summoned from the graveyard. Here is the new ability I am thinking of. This card can only be Special Summoned from your hand or Graveyard by removing 3 monsters in your Graveyard from play during a turn in which you have not Normal Summoned and it cannot be summoned by other means (You cannot Normal Summon this turn). The Special Summoning of this card cannot be negated, and it is not affected by magic or trap cards. The ATK of this card becomes equal to the number of face-up attack positions monsters on the field x1000.
