JesusofChaos™
Personally i believe the game should be skilled based, not luck based. This stops lucksack noobs from ruining the game for people who play properly. The Arcana Force cards reduce skill and bring luck into the game. Did Konami make a mistake (in relation to these cards)? Azuh
nothere bringing a new alternative to the gamei reckon there a fun set to play. Epscially with Light Barrier, the Arcanas sort of kick ass
tonisanoob
no as a good acrana force deck should have backups for when you flip a tails thus keeping the skill element in
Wyhe
they intended to bring out the Arcana Force so that people may have new & fresh strategies to play with & not get bored with yugioh. (and it's about time too they wise up)

MarbleZone
You can't make that kind of connection between cards with strategy like the Arcanas and things like Cup of Ace. Basically you're asking whether cards should have coin flip effects. Regarding the Arcanas, why not? Like toni said, there are backup cards that allow you to somewhat manipulate the results, like Reversal of Fate or Arcana Call. Cup of Ace has been discussed elsewhere and yes, it should be banned, because that one requires no skill, nor cost for that matter. The Arcanas are just another type of monster with adequate support. ;)

It was intended to be that way' date=' nuff said[/quote']that is not the point of the discussion the discussion is about wether this luck aspect is benefical to the overall game. Wyhe
I think that the main reason for a flood of luck-based cards is due to the lack of originality nowadays.Nowadays, nearly all popular decks are nearly the same. The Arcana Force are apparently their solution to counter the problem. Also,an Arcana Force deck seems to revolve around luck, but there's also skill involved as well. There must be cards to accomadate both positive & negative effects of the Arcana Force monsters, such as cards that can get rid of Arcana Force monsters with negative effects. Purple Dinosaur
Note that all LODT is full of luck. It was intended to be that way' date=' nuff said[/quote'] Well for Maximum Six, no matter what you roll, it gets more ATK. Dangerous Machine Type-6, no matter what you roll, there's an effect (some are good some are bad)
MarbleZone
Dangerous Machine Type-6' date=' no matter what you roll, there's an effect (some are good some are bad)[/quote'] Incidentally, the exact same thing happens with the Arcanas, which is what this thread's title is about. Purple Dinosaur
The effects 1,4 and 6 are the ones you want to avoid. (only 4 and 6 if you run Dark World)
Exiro
A good Arcana Force deck still requires skill, and the player must for example decide if he will Creature Swap his current tails-tossed AF monster, or protect it for a turn to offer it for a trib AF monster, and if that one lands on tails, Creature Swap that one for an extremer negative effect that the opponent will get. Things like that, that's a real AF deck. I'm not saying that it is anywhere near competitive, but that luck is just a new factor in the game that doesn't take skill away. But yeah, Cup of Ace is a bummer. I hate it when my opponent uses it and gets the PoG effect. He just got the effect of a banned card!
Cyber Altair
no. they made a change for once, finally there is a fun deck that is fun to play with. No noob. E-Hero's weren't fun =\ at all.............
JesusofChaos™
^You are right about e-heros but playing a deck that requires some decree of luck is not fun, yes all decks require some luck with topdecking but these LODT take this to an extreme. If i wanted to win or lose through a coin flip or a dice roll, i would gamble more
Cyber Altair
well it's more fun with luck since there is the element of surprise and it's a fun night to spend with a couple of friends playing with the Arcana's when sleeping at someones house or something. And the best thing is that a tourney capable deck can be made unlike E-Hero's which hardly survived fun decks lol.
