The Rant/Rave/Complaint Thread

if i wasnt so stubborn i would have left this site almost immediately...the feedback on fantasy cards is sparse to non existent...rude...and or ignorant. i have posted i dunno 50-80 fantasy cards and the times i haved received thoughtful analysis i can count on my left hand if like 3 of my fingers had been shot off.

i cant see how many new members would feel welcome at all here.

many people are way to sensitive IMO and some of those are high post members who actively insult others on a regular basis

i no this has noting to do wit ycm but!!!!!!!!

does any1 else tink gameking(where you can play yu-gi-oh on the computer)is stupid?? all any1 does is disconnects when ur winning and then report they won its so irritating i have never got to finish 1 full duel its so annoying!!!!!!!

This is in General, so don't worry.

I recommend you to try DMU, with countless TCG, OCG and Anime cards, or YVD, where you can make your own cards.

Hmm, well, I'm pretty pissed at Brawl right now. This whole week I've been sucking horribly, and we keep choosing crappy places. I'm talking about places that have little quirks that often directly (or sometimes indirectly) lead to your death. For example, places with no edges. Like completely flat places. Those can indirectly lead to your death, but I find it really cheap that right after dying, I try to go over and kill someone, and I get thrown off screen and die again with about 4% damage. Or maybe that giant beam on Spear Pillar that randomly fires when you're in the cave. I was down there with about 20% damage, get hit by it and die after I came back about 10 seconds ago. I don't understand what everyone has against good places like Final Destination or Battle Field or the Melee Pokemon Stadium. Because I'm bored and slightly pissed now, I'll just make a list of all the "bad" places that I can remember of the top of my head.

"Bad" Places

Bridge of Eldin - No edges and has a floor that eats you up (happens to me kinda often).

Rumble Falls - Some areas have no edges and it continuously moves up. For me at least, it's no longer about killing others, it's about me trying to survive. Oh yeah, and random spike that hovers in mid-air around the beginning of the stage.

Skyworld - Floor can be destroyed so you can't grab on to an edge. And most of the time, if you fall through the bottom, you can't back up.

WarioWare, Inc. - Random mini-games that often result in death. And if everyone "wins" a mini-game, you're screwed if you're the only one that doesn't get a star. Trust me, it happens a lot >_>. (And this is just a personal thing, I just don't like the design.)

New Pork City - Too big. Random pinkish monster that comes out of nowhere and often kills you instantly just by touching it. And it's especially annoying if your opponent is running away from you the whole time, and you end up falling by accident or the pinkish monster appears on you.

Summit - Well, there is a fish that always seems to show up when you least expect it. I don't know how many times I've been eaten by it when I had less than 30% damage.

Mario Circuit - No edges. That's pretty much it. The cars are also a little annoying, but not that annoying.

Frigate Orpheon - 1/3 of the stage goes up and down. It usually goes up if I'm trying to get back on, or if it's down, it's that much easier to fall off the bottom of the stage.

Distant Planet - The waterfall and the thing (can't remember what it's called) can easily take you away if you fall in it's mouth for a quick second.

Mushroomy Kingdom - Kinda like Rumble Falls, but not as bad. We don't usually play it, so I can't really complain about it. But from what I've played, it's bad news.

Port Town Aero Dive - Need I explain? I think it's only saving grace is it's music.

Mario Bros. - Enemies that run around and knock you off, a POW block, no edges, and a ceiling...

Green Hill Zone - No edges, the floor breaks apart, and the checkpoint thing bothers me.

Spear Pillar - The design is good, but with the beams, the slowness, the blades that fly around, the flipping around, everything become backwards, it's just not cool.

75m - Need I say anything?

Flat Zone 2 - No edges. And it's a little too small.

Jungle Japes - The water. And the alligators that jump out...

Big Blue - For some reason, it's not as bad as it was in Melee, but it is still kinda bad.

Yoshi's Island (Melee) - Half if it has no edges, it has a hole in the middle a Landmaster can fall into, and there isn't a lot of room to get back on on the left part of the stage.

"Okay" Places"

Delfino Plaza - With the exception of a few areas with no edges, it's okay.

Yoshi’s Island (Brawl) - My only complaint is the platform in the middle of the stage and the guys with platforms on their heads that think it's cool to go down as I'm about to land on them.

Lylat Cruise - My only complaint is the three platforms above the ship. Other than that, it's fine.

Castle Siege - Just the room in the middle that doesn't have any edges.

Halberd - You can get left behind the very beginning, but that never happens. It's borderline "bad"-"okay" because of the bomb, claw, and lazer.

Shadow Moses Island - Like Halberd, it's borderline "bad"-"okay". It has no edges, but to get knocked off, the walls must be destroyed. And by then, you usually have more than just 20% damage.

PictoChat - With the exception of the spikes, fire, and rockets, the stuff that comes up doesn't really hinder you that much. And initially, the design is perfect.

Norfair - We never did it, so I can't really complain about it.

Temple - Too big. Can turn into mindless chasing if your opponent is acting annoying.

Luigi's Mansion - Besides the temporary ceiling, I have no problem with it.

Hanenbow - We've never even done this place yet, so I can't complain about it. I imagine I'll strongly dislike it the second we do it, so it's borderline "bad"-"okay".

Pirate Ship - It's okay with the exception of the bombs and the catapult.

"Good" Places

Battle Field - I like it's design, but if it were a little bigger, it would be perfect.

Final Destination - I think simplicity is a good thing. If only it was as big as it was in Melee. (It's music is also awesome).

Smashville - Just like Final Destination, but with a platform above it. The only reason I think it's better than Yoshi's Island (Brawl), is because it isn't at an angle (for some reason, that bothers me), and I don't have to worry about platform guys going down as I'm trying to land on them.

I probably sound like a little b**** now, but whatever, I feel better. :P

(Oh yeah, something on YCM. This doesn't really bother me too much, but I don't get thanked or anything for cleaning something up. I know moderating is a thankless job, but jeez. You'd think I'd be mentioned at least once in the threads that are like "best/most helpful/nice/cool/good member". I mean really, with the exception of Super Mods that are mentioned there, I've probably done more than the normal members being mentioned every other post. Yeah, that's it)

EDIT: Holy crap that's big...

(Thanks to whoever reads all of that)

Guest JoshIcy

im extremely mad that the current Island of Hawaii that i live on does not have proper manners. the hawaii i grew up in was all about manners and how the individuals viewed each other. not as one whole society. you never had to make friends to get that, you never had to soften people up, you never had to [uuuugh]... so much stress just trying to get people to care on this island, it just ticks me off for lack of a better term...

people here have no sense of care, they wanna see everyone as a mass and not individuals. but if there is no individuals where is the society? nowhere. here general greetings arent meant they are expected..... uuuuuugh!!!!!

@ hotfoilcard: It surely is annoying to get rejected by people, but don't you think that there are still some members who don't despise you? Generally it helps a lot to follow the advices and warnings others give you. Also, I understand that you can find very long card effects annoying, but at least it shows that someone surely put some effort into this.

@ Slime Lord: I actually read your whole post, even though I didn't understand everything, since I don't have this Brawl game. But don't worry about the other thing: I have noticed your effort here and that you try to be nice to people. You'd definitely deserve a place in a survey about the most helpful members.:D

@ Lazerman: I thought that friends were people you feel (more or less) close to and you can rely on, but friendships conisting of showing up once every few months sound quite weird indeed:? If you're looking for new friends here, you could watch for people who have similar interests as you. A quite efficient way would be roleplay games, maybe starting one yourself, if you like that, or opening more threads, like contests and such. If people notice you they will maybe get into contact with you.

I don't have any useful things to say about finding a girlfriend, since I'm not very experienced in relationships myself, so sorry:?

huh? i dunno wut?

i just hate how small the print gets on the card mostly, and if the print is super small you should paste your text into the thread so people could read it...lolz how did that get controversial?

it is really a challenge...when ever my effects get too long i start to stress out about what effect i can trim or what wording i have to trim so the card text is semi legible.

and as far as advice and warnings...i have my disclaimers, i gave my art credit before it was required and penalized not to do it...so im really not following u...

and things like "u fail" is not advice nor a warning raven (most recent example of the thoughtful comment i received based on my latest analysis of crabhelmet's ban list - from the illustrious 2000+ post champ jesus of chaos).

oh and to lazerman for tha ladies -

be yourself and try to remain positive...fake will eff u up as will being down on yourself...ladies avoid the self conciousness like the plague...well most do...it depends what your into....

if you wanna speed things up...there is a classic technique...its called "lowering your standards" and just dating virtually any woman who doesnt make you vomit and says yes. it can be a confidence booster...but there is the downside of developing a reputation of dating the ugs....

Actually, that was supposed to be a reference to post #24.

As I already said, I can understand that you feel bad when people just limit their feedback on things like "u fail". But whenever you want some more reasonable and justified comments, just send me a link to your threads.

Would you prefer them to be 1 or 2 lines? That was the olden days (Pot of Greed, Raigeki etc) These days you need more complex effects. That's Icy's infuence on me. Also it helps the balance. Have a look at my "Lady Luck" If you don't believe me.

On that note, I agree something should be done to the text format of the Card Maker. Longer effects make the font ridiculously small, the text isn't justified but aligned left, and that seriously diminishes the visual quality of some cards. I'm not a programmer, but given the complexity of the Card Maker, I'd say these small adjustments could be easily applied...
