Guest JoshIcy
Ok i know the obvious fact that the beast king is better due to his higher atk etc.... but rather which one is more plausible to use in the decks its designed for? http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Beast_King_Barbaroshttp://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Fusilier_Dragon%2C_the_Dual-Mode_Beast
Purple Dinosaur
Barbaros. I would just go ahead and skip the first effect. Just tribute 3 monsters and he'll clear the way (unless your opponent has Traps)
pizzaman
Barbaros is used in a variety of decks, such as D.D. Skilldrain and even Zombies, due to the fact that his 3-tribute effect is easy to trigger using them. Still, Fusilier can be used in Virus decks. As far as I'm concerned though, Barbaros has more versatility, and he has made these cards cry in their sleep:- Fusilier- Gilford the Lightning- Moisture Creature (although LV9 = easy to get out via Reasoning, I guess.) Guest
IIRC, Fusilier can't be tributed for DDV/EEV if it was Set without tribute.

Guest
Also, if you run the sort of Skill Drain deck that uses negative effect monsters instead of monsters that are unaffected by Skill Drain, you could try running both together, since they double as Beastgod Machineking - Barbaros Ur food. pizzaman
IIRC' date=' Fusilier can't be tributed for DDV/EEV if it was Set without tribute.[/quote']Apparently if it was Set without tribute, its stats are treated as it's original before being flipped up.And since the Virus tribute, it can use original stats, provided that Fusi is face-down. I learned this from another thread here, I think it was someones Virus Control deck in the deck section.

I learned this from another thread here, I think it was someones Virus Control deck in the deck section. I've looked up the ruling.Holy snap, Japan has a different ruling from this. "When this card is Set without Releasing, then its status halving effect is only applied when it's Flipped-Up.When it is Set in face-down Def position its ATK is still technically 2800, and hence can be used to activate Deck Devastaion virus and Eradicator Epidemic Virus. Similary, it is destoryed by Card Crush Virus when it is Set.Interestingly, the rulings for Releasing this card for Mystic Wok while Set is still 'under examination' by Konami." Kevin Alan Enquist
Dual Mode Beast works with deck devastation when set, but must remain set when you use deck-devi, considering the fact that it says "tribute". Which would allow you to use set monsters
