Wyhe
For the past few days,I've been inactive on this site as some of you may have noticed. As to why,I was off to a China (specifically Shanghai,Wuxi & Nanjing)on a school field trip. The nature of this journey is to see the schools at China & learn more about Chinese culture through experience. Now that I'm back,I will now tell you about the experience. 16/5 (Shanghai)-Shanghai Science Centre:It was amazing! They managed to show the mechanics of science in fun ways,an example would be a ride of sorts that takes one to the digestive system. There are also 4D movie theaters there. -Shanghai City Development Exhibition Hall:This place shows how Shanghai is developed to its current modern state.Somes plans (and our tour guide) state that Shanghai will still continue development. There is even a model of Shanghai itself. (I dubbed asChibi-Shanghai) -Nanjing Road:a common shopping district full of department stores. We even journeyed to the alleys to see the life styles there. 17/5 (Shanghai)-Cheng Huang Miao:another shopping district full of road-side shops -The Bund:an area in Shanghai that was once unaccessible by Chinese. (in other words,it's a strictly foreigner-zone)The area faces the Huangpu River & the other side of Shanghai. (The view there was great!!) 18/5 (Shanghai~Wuxi)-Oriental Green Boat (Shanghai):a humongous park of sorts. There are scuptures of famous people everywhere. There is also a section where there are many de-commissioned millitary machines, like a warship, submarine & fighter planes. There are even rides on jeeps that take you around the area...and into the water. -Anonymous pottery (Wuxi):This location produces some of China's finest tea pots.We were introduced to the masters of tea pot making & were shown their finest creations. 19/5 (Wuxi~Nanjing)-Huashi Experimental School (Nanjing):a large school complex consisting of a nursery, primary sch, secondary sch & higher education facillities. -Huashi Village (Nanjing):AKA the First Village Beneath Heaven. (direct transliteration)There are many exotic sights there. -Anonymous International School (Nanjing):an international school whose students conssts of people of many races throughout the Asian region. 20/5 (Nanjing)-Nanjing Jinling Middle School:a well-known middle school in Nanjing. The students there are very welcoming to us,but there are also some who was the exact opposite. The school also built some models & devices to explain physics concepts to us. -Anonymous farmlands:We took a night hike to the farmlands near the hostel we lived in.The serene setting was rare for me. (it would be perfect if some people don't go shouting out in panic) 21/5 (Nanjing)-Sun Yat-Sen Mausoleum:a maulsoleum that houses the remains of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen.Sun Yat-Sen was the revolutionist who opposes & destroys Qing Dynasty. He held the belief that the land belonged to the people, not just 1 man. (he was referring to the Emperor)Anyway, the maulsoleum has 392 steps which I had brilliantly conquerred them all.[insert evil laughter] -Fuzi Miao:another shopping district. There are several statues of famous Chinese in some parts of the area. 22/5 (Nanjing)-Nanjing Massacre Museun:a museum that recounts the Nanjing Massacre,1 of the greatest killings in the history of China.A total of 30,000 was killed by the Japanese army at that time.It was shocking to realise that some Japanese killed people there only for fun. (you don't see Hilter doing that.)Not to mention that they enjoy torturing them. (they cut a man's head half-way,and then twist it continuouslly & pulled it out) -Tao Xingzhi Museum:a museum dedicated to Tao Xingzhi,a philosopher in China during the Republic era of China. His name corresponds to his life-long belief that through one's actions can one know. (kind of like what I just did) 23/5 (Nanjing)-Anonymous farmlands:We went there again to experience the hardships of farming for ourselves.I can tell you that farming is hard. (wonder farmers can be willing to spend their lives like that) -Unknown museum:a museun dedicated to Xiang Yu.Xiang Yu was the man who opposed & eventually destroyed Qin Dynasty. However,he feared his close friend/rival,Liu Bang, thus he plotted to kill him.In the end,he failed & commited suicide out of shame. The area the museum is built is where the original Yangtze River flowed before changing course. It was in that area where Xiang Yu commited suicide. 24/5 (Nanjing)-Xingzhi Primary School:a primary school that started out as a small village school. It eventually became the famous school that is well-known throughout the Asian regions. The school is named after Tao Xingzhi, mainly following his main philosphopy. -Anonymous tea leaf plantation:a tea leaf plantation that produces lots of tea leaves that we were forced to pluck out.(dubbed as the "Nanjing Tea Leaf Massacre" by my friend) I would like to thank the following people for making this journey possible & enjoyable.-Mrs Chua (Principal of my sch)-Mr Ong (MTL HOD of my sch/teacher IC for China trip)-Ms Chen (MTL teacher of my sch/teacher IC for China trip)-Mr Soon (Science teacher of my sch/teacher IC for China trip)-Brother Liu (Tour guide at Shanghai & Wuxi)-Mr Zhang (Xingzhi teacher/tour guide at Nanjing)-Ms/Mdm Zhu (Xingzhi teacher/tour guide at Nanjing)
