For those of us who can't read Japanese, here's the card effect:

When this card is Normal or Special Summoned, you can destroy up to 2 cards on the field. For each card destroyed, that card's controller draws 1 card. This card cannot attack during the turn it is Normal or Special Summoned.

I think it has too much of a drawback compared to the rest of the monarchs. I wouldn't run it unless I had nothing better to put in.

Neither can I it's in Japanese.

http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Kuraz_the_Light_Monarch there much better.

Ok, on to seriousness. Kuraz is now the draw engine for Monarchs because he gets his effect when special summoned. It's like, DDR, Kuraz, draw two. It's a 2-1. 2 cards, 1 discard from hand. He's even better with Premmy. He funking pwns. I am so getting 3 of him when he hits the USA. Great synergy with Scouts and Survivors in Macro, along with Treeborn and Discy in PC. He has great removal for noobs. And great drawing power for people who have L2play'd.

I still have no idea why TCG players are making such a big deal out of this guy...

Can anyone care to explain please? Reading the whole thread still hasn't answered this small question I've had for ages.

In a Macro deck, where you practically have an unlimited supply of fodder, you'd have enough to spend for this guy. If you Tribute Summon him with a Survivor/Scout Plane, and then you destroy him along with another Survivor/Scout Plane, you draw 2 cards. That's a +2, +1 if you count destroying Kuraz as a loss. Kuraz's effect that inhibits himself from attacking upon summon pretty much makes him a perfect target for his own effect. The fact that Kuraz's effect can also be used when Special Summoned is another plus. Along with Cyber Valley (if played, which isn't a bad idea), Kuraz will be the other main target for D.D.R., because you can bring him back and reuse his destroy effect to draw 2 more cards. Not to mention if you really get desperate, you can hit two cards on your opponent's side.

That's how I understand this card currently. Am I wrong anywhere?

Let me show you guys a Duel Simulation

Duelist:Light Warrior Deck

Duelist's turn (3 face-down cards)

-Duelist draws 1 card

-Duelist activate Call of the Haunted to special summon Kuraz

-Kuraz activates effect & destroy 2 face-down cards

-Duelist draws 2 cards

-face-downs are Statue of the Wicked,so 2 Wicked Tokens are special summoned

-Duelist tributes Kuraz & Wicked Tokens to summon Gilford the Lightning

-Gilford's effect activates to destroy all monster (then it's direct attack)

How can you target D.D.R./Premature Burial and Kuraz at the same time when one would by destroyed if the other was removed from the field?

When Kuraz is summoned by these cards his effect is triggered. You target the 2 cards. These are then destroyed by Kurazs effect must resolve before premature/ddrs effect of destroying it can activate. So you draw 2 then it is destroyed
