First, I don't know if this kind of thread as been made, if it has sorry.

I just got it yesturday and so far I like it, for the most part.

The 1 things I hate are the items. No matter what I'm doing they always kill me. I really hate them because I always seem to be hit by an items back to back. Like in 1 lap I was hit by 2 blue shells in less than 30 seconds.

My fav character is Yoshi.

So tell me what you think of the game.

Ive had it for about 2 months now. My best person is King Boo, Best Car is the Cheep Charger, and best bike is the Shooting Star.

I really love the game, but the items can be irritating. I went from 1st to last in 3 seconds by slipping on a banana I didnt even touch. But great game. Whats your Friend Number? Be cool to play with you^^

I had the game for a few weeks now.

My favorite characters are Dry Bowser and Diddy Kong.

My favorite new track is the Mall.

Also, I agree with you. More than once in races when I'm in first, here's what happens:

Blue shell nails me and I go flying. When I'm still in the air an idiot activates the Lightning Bolt and I shrink. When I land on the ground, a Red shell hits me.

Ouch :P

Mine never seem quite that bad, but I do get stupid chains of items hitting me which is extremely annoying, especially if it's a tight course.

Sucks imo.

Before you start bashing me, here me out. I've been playing MarioKart since the original SNES version. Every subsequent version had an amazing boost in graphics, as well as gameplay, up until this latest release.

Sure, the crazy characters and tracks are back, as are the wacky items. However, the stronger items in this game are completely unbalanced. Between the Blue Shell and the POW block, you are guaranteed to be absolutely pounded if you are in first place.

It's almost as if you don't want to bother trying to be in first place until the last 15 seconds of a race, otherwise you are completely screwed, thereby making the racing element of the game completely irrelevant.

The motion controls are a completely worthless and cheap gimmick, thrown in as a 'new feature' for the sake of saying 'look we have a new feature' without actually doing anything to make the gameplay more fun.

As for the graphics, MarioKart for the Wii almost appears to be a step BACKWARDS. Every MarioKart game to-date has had an immense graphical boost between titles (not DS). At best, we can say that the Wii game looks the same as Double Dash. Take a look http://www.videogamer.com/videos/player.html?vid=1824

Yes, graphically, the games do look almost identical, however, consider this. In double-dash, if you had three green shells, the characters would juggle them. If you had a mushroom, you could see the player put it into the kart to get the boost. The character on the back of the Kart would always be doing something animated, adding to the visual eye-candy. For the Wii, the characters have almost no animations (aside from the stunts), and you never see the items until they are deployed. Little things like this make a game look polished, which unfortunately this game lacks. Why did Nintendo cut so many corners? Not to mention they took out the character-specific items, which made the game much more interesting IMO.

Also, the character models look absolutely terrible in this game. They seriously look like they were taken from the DS version of the game or something. WTF Nintendo, you made Mario & Bowser look great in Galaxy.

As for the controls, I was a fan of the blue-sparks in Double Dash. It made it so you had to be good at a game to do well at it. It's a simple concept. I realize that the blue-sparks (now red sparks) are in there if you select 'manual', but they did dumb-it-down. I don't recall Nintendo dumbing down games we used to love like BATTLETOADS.

Yes on the graphics. I've seen the Characters do not have fingers. Their hand is a round, egg shaped ball.

[b']So true. I hate being in first because I'm always being hit by something, and if I'm not than I'll be hit by like 3 or 4 back to back.[/b]

Again true. Their doing this with 99% of games, it does work well, from what I've heard, but it didn't matter if it was their or not. Atleast if you have a GC controller you can use it

To me graphics don't mean much, but it should have looked better than Double Dash, if only by a bit. This most likely comes down to the Wii and GC being a lot alike graphically.

Candy is nice, eye-candy is nicer. Your right. I also miss the character-specific items. Those were great.

Again, see above

For Tibito, beat all 150 CC Cups and get at least a one star ranking. Basically, get a perfect 60 on all of them. I dont even have dry bowser yet, I kinda gave upTT.

But I do wish the graphics were tuned up a bit. I miss auto and manual at the same time. The music is very good though. I love the new Rainbow Road, and the retro tracks was a wonderful idea.

I forgot all about this when I posted.

In past kart games their was something called snaking. If you want to know what is is, use google, to lazy to go into it. But this is why they changed the spark thing.
