The Slime Lord
Yeah, does anyone here play any Fire Emblem games? Like Fire Emblem and Sacred Stones on the GBA and Path of Radiance on the GCN and Radiant Dawn on the Wii? Pretty much the whole time I was gone, I was playing Sacred Stones. I'm addicted to it right now. I'd be playing right now, but my DS has to charge.
Abstract [Atrocity]
I had both for the GBA (still have the original, SS got boring >>) and the one for the Gamecube. My brother wants the one on Wii, I told him "I'm not going halfsies, you can buy it yourself". The original was more interesting to me, idk why, probably just the memories of it or whatever. Flame Dragon
One of the best things about Melee, Fire Emblem left Japan. I never played a Fire Emblem game, how are they. Might get the one for the Wii since I've done almost everything in Brawl and Kart.
The Slime Lord
@kon: Yeah, I have pretty good memories playing the original (actually the 7th in the series). I'm loving SS though. It's too easy though. Except for the chapter where you get Marissa and stuff. That one was just plain freakin' hard. (Don't say it). Once I finish SS, I'll ask my brother if I can play PoR. He got it last Christmas, but hasn't played it yet for some stupid reason. Because it's his game, it's only natural he wouldn't let me play it first. I guess after I finish SS, I'll have to find the original. I lost it somewhere a while ago. @Flame Dragon: They're pretty good if like tactical RPGs and stuff. They're more challenging than most other RPGs I've played. This series requires you to actually think. Not just go into a battle and attack, attack, attack, attack, heal, attack, attack, attack, heal, attack, attack, item, attack, attack, etc. And about RD on the Wii, I think it's a sequel to PoR which is on the GameCube. Both have Ike.
SHINI [THE CHAOS]
lol I have Sacred Stones. But my data auto-erases itself, so yeah :(
FoolMeNever
I have PoR, they're good, but they beaten out by better SRPG's like Disgaea.
Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
I have FEVIII, FEIX, and FEX - they get worse as time goes on. I'm trying to get FEVI (that was as good as FE got IMO). FEI - Pure genius; it actually made you think with its lack of revives.FEII - There were a whole ton of new features that destroyed the game.FEIII - An FEI remake with more levels; it couldn't be bad.FEIV - Never seen, probably never will.FEV - Same as above.FEVI - Back to the good games, the new graphics and more FEI-ish style made this the best FE game ever.FEVII - It's a prequel to FEVI; I like how they left the identity of Roy's mother ambiguous (place your bets). On the other hand, the three storylines were totally unnecessary.FEVIII - The branching promotions worked perfectly, but the story was lackluster compared to other FEs.FEIX - The Laguz were a terrible addition. I also don't like how Ike is one of those common folk who rises to save the kingdom; it's so cliché.FEX - HOLYCRAPSUCKISH. What were they thinking, making it four parts?! And the Laguz are even more broken?! I also don't like how they marketed FEVII as FEI in America. But that's about it.
The Slime Lord
Until I noticed the 'E' in FE, I thought you were talking about Final Fantasy. I was thinking, wrong series, dude. :P As for the one the with Roy, I'm thinking of importing it. From what I've heard, Gameboys (or any handheld for that matter) don't have region-locks. Besides, I could probably find some script of the story online or something. And I don't think I'd have to know Japanese to be able to do well in battles. Silencerleader
I like Fire Emblem...the art/etc., but the plot really sucks, there is no challenge in it, its not fascinating.
