Ladies and Gentleman of the SUPPOSED jury, This is Cheww-bacca. Chewbacca is a wookie from the planet verdanok, but he LIVES on the planet endor. Now, why would a 7-foot monster like chewbacca live with a bunch of 2-foot tall ewoks. That does not make sense. So I ask this SUPPOSED jurry, does this case make sense. LOOK AT THE SILLY MONKAY!

lol honestly viacom is going against the law, in which case the government doesnt care. This is an example of how the U.S. Government really sucks. We choose to allow companies do this to the common person. Whoever is richer is going to win a lawsuit between the two.

Arekku_Koro 13, that was a funny episode of south park lol

So I'm going to be sued?....Yeah....great....-_-

Wait, suing for what? Watching some stuff that MIGHT have been copyrighted? Sue me for that? HAHAH, don't make me laugh...

I mean come on now, you cannot sue people who have watched it for that >_> They should sue the person who actually uploaded it and leave the other people alone for gods sake <_<

And what's this, the freaking judge allowed to ask for the IP address, wait, and the logins as well? That judge is a f***ing moron >_<

seriously...

They say that giving out an IP address isnt really giving out personal information. Whatever. But giving out a YouTube account isn't giving out personal information? How the judge concluded that giving out the information to a YoutTube account isn't distributing personal information ILLUDES me. If someone puts into their YouTube account, their first name, their last name, where they live, or any other PERSONAL information, wouldn't that mean that they are distributing PERSONAL information??? That judge is a funking moron.

on a second note

They claim that YouTube & Google should install some type of system that would filter out the copyrighted material. They claim that there are such programs. However, that is false. Their aren't any systems that can filter out copyrighted material because, all the videos uploaded to YouTube are collected into the same database. They dont PERSONALLY sort out which videos are copyrighted and which videos aren't. And their arent any programs that could. They DO however block/remove videos that are copyrighted AS MUCH AS THEY HUMANLY CAN. In order to effectively remove the copyrighted videos, or do it as Viacom would like them to do it, they would have to sort through EVERY SINGLE ONE of the videos on YouTube, which is over hundreds of thousands. Possibly even millions. So to expect YouTube to do that is...well... retarded. That's like saying, "I have a task for you. Count out all the odd numbers between 1 and 500,000 one number at a time."

Until a program IS made that can sort out the copyrighted materials, it's nearly, not completely, but nearly impossible.

THIS IS BLASTEMY!THIS IS MADNESS!What if someone pulls a Bait and Switch on us and they find out we watched their programs!Look this is utter bulls***.If someone uploads their programs sue them not us,because we could assume that they have legal rights to distrubute this on youtube, dailymotion, veoh or any other video streaming site.So I think I’m not alone here when I say screw you, Viacom

Okay guys allow me to tell you something...For all of those scared you're going to be sued....| you aren't.

What viacom is going to do is sue the people who watch the videos AFTER the law suit is over (now). If you have watched copyrighted videos before this lawsuit, you wont be sued. Honestly I doubt they will sue anyone. They are probably just trying to get YouTube and Google to appease them.

its obviously not true i mean if they were that consurned in stoping people from going on you tube they would have got rid of it

i think that it is a load of bull s**t

none the less even if it is true i live in australia and i doubt that the U.S governer can stop me there

If you are saying that the lawsuit isnt true, you are mistaken. The third link he put in there actually leads to an adobe version of the typings the stetographer did in court. :|

Lol if you watched a copyrighted PRIOR to the lawsuit you're fine. If you watched one AFTER the lawsuit, you might be in trouble. And yes, it does effect Australia. As long as your computer has a traceable IP address (it does) you shouldn't watch any copyrighted videos on youtube NOW. They will be given your IP.

Yes, songs do count if it's copyrighted by Viacom. Basically just dont watch any T.V. shows (yes that counts anime) on YouTube to be safe. Plus, normally the song will say (if it has those little titles at the beginning of it in the bottom left corner) if it's copyrighted or not.

Normally when a music video starts up, it will have a little title in the bottom left corner. I'm talking about an actual music video, like on MTV. Those will normally have a title that has the copyright and the lable. You shouldn't watch any Music videos (official music videos) on YouTube until this whole thing clears up.

What if you're using a public computer?

Then the I.P address would screw them over..

Besides; You can mostly Lie on you're internet profile applications aswell.

If you were smart; You'd be pretty hard to trace.

Either way, it's no big deal.

To be honest, I've never even heard of viacom.

=/.
