Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
How the hell are you supposed to know if material is copyrighted or not? Music videos is one thing, but... Seriously, this is like Nintendo suing FF.net and then suing people who read Nintendo-based fanfics. Look at all the brands Viacom owns: BET NETWORKSBETBET JMTV NETWORKSATOMFILMSADDICTINGGAMESCMTCOMEDY CENTRALGAMETRAILERSHARMONIXLOGOMTVMTV2MTVN INTERNATIONALMTVUMTV TR3SNEOPETSNICKELODEON - NICK JR.NICK AT NITENOGGINPARENTSCONNECTQUIZILLARHAPSODYSHOCKWAVESPIKE TVTHE NTV LANDVH1VH1 CLASSICVH1 SOULVIRTUAL WORLDSXFIREFILMED ENTERTAINMENTPARAMOUNT PICTURES CORPPARAMOUNT PICTURESDREAMWORKS STUDIOSPARAMOUNT VANTAGEMTV FILMSNICKELODEON MOVIESHOME ENTERTAINMENTGLOBAL REACHBRAND INDEX And probably more. And someone actually wrote an article "You go, Viacom!" on the subject.

Willieh
What if you're using a public computer? Then the I.P address would screw them over..Besides; You can mostly Lie on you're internet profile applications aswell. If you were smart; You'd be pretty hard to trace.Either way' date=' it's no big deal.To be honest, I've never even heard of viacom.=/.2sick~[/quote'] Its really easy to trace an IP address even if the person you're tracing is smart. You dont even have to have any type of professional equiptment. Odds are you wont get sued anyway :|
texaschickenlittle
I guess this probably pretty obvious, but does it effect Wiis, PS3s, and Xbox 360s (hey it rhymed) using their respective internet browsers? I use my Wii to watch videos on Youtube, and I'm pretty sure it has an IP address.

People are putting up their videos onto YouTube for free, and Viacom sees a place where they would make money off of it. If you owned a large business like Viacom, you would do the same thing. Don't tell me you wouldnt, because when you own a business its ALL about money. Especially when you own a business like Viacom. Oh yeah, and soz for double post.
