Brrrr...! Hail Cyber + Ice Queen

Hey, everyone. I see that YCM has gotten a lot of new members. Welcome, all of you. Anyways, I recently started reading the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Manga, and was struck by Asuka Tenjoin's (aka Alexis Rhodes in the Dub) beautiful and exotic "Ice" cards. However, the problem therein lay that Manga cards don't have nice images - in fact, they're a nasty black and white. So, I decided to recolor them for my YVD Images. What started as a short project became a full-fledged passion, and now the Ice Monsters are my favorite series! Here are both of the monsters that aren't already OCG cards - Hail Cyber and Ice Queen.

PS. I notice the effects themselves aren't that great, but it's really more the effort and image that counts. Also, the effects given are the ones the respective monsters have in the Manga. Believe you me, I know about card effects. Right, DJ?

Note: The following images on Onemanga.com have not been drawn by myself, nor do I claim ownership of the said images in any way, shape, or form. I do, however, claim the said ownership of the colored images. Please do not reproduce or copy any of the said images without the artist's permission. This is a disclaimer, so there!

Below are the card images in their original context. Please click the links below so you can see what I started with.

Hail Cyber (Original)

Ice Queen (Original)

And now, for the finished images. Please enjoy, and thanks for looking!

Hail Cyber (Approximate Coloring/Shading Time: 2 hours and 10 minutes)

As you can see, I put a lot of work and patience into making these, so all comments on the images are welcome. Thanks for looking!

The second card, Ice Queen, Did u draw that whole pic out or? Cos' the black and white version isn't on the links u provided? So im confused. Oh never mind, the link has worked now..! I see.

But awesome man! That did take a lot of time!

10/10 for pics!

10/10 for effort!

7/10 on effects since to 'plain' (I know, they're off the manga, but still...)!

Colouring shading etc looks perfect!

Please check out my cards too, thanks!

OX13: I think she turned out pretty well. Oh, pardon me. >_<" ....

Alim: No, I did not draw her. I'm pretty sure I linked right. Let me double-check, though...and yeah, I drew some of her, the right side of her dress, since it was cut-off in the image. Yeah, the effects are...bogus, lol.

But Hail Cyber > Harpie Lady ANY DAY. ^^ Thanks for looking, guys.

your coloring is nice but you need to work on the coloring for the shards of ice about your characters body, try to leave some white in it to emphasis reflection from the crystal structure of ice.

Real card images and manga images are the same thing. A crappy line art drawing can look beautiful given the right set of coloring and semi contrapositive can be said to the same thing as well.

Shonen: I can see where you're coming from, but it's important to remember that these two are my first coloring jobs. Thanks for viewing, and yes, I tried to achieve a shiny effect like Ice, but I couldn't get the opacity right.

Cassia: Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed them...now, if only Konami would make them!
