:/

No-one uses Rapid Spin in OU these days. Stealth Rock is so common' date=' it isn't worth, as it takes two turns to get rid of Stealth Rock (one to switch in and one to RS), but only one to lay it down (use SR).

I do. And Starmie does a very good job of it. Besides, you don't always have to switch in. You could just stick with what you're using, and when it faints, send out Starmie. Then it takes some light damage from Stealth Rock, and can Rapid Spin them away, since it's most likely faster than the opponent. If it's packing recover, it can heal, and if it's packing Ice Beam, it takes care of constant dragon threats in the game.

Incidentally, Saturnpaladin, no offense, but after looking at your fanfic, I'd be inclined to disbelieve you as being 26.

Aeon: But if you have to bring in Starmie in when you've lost a Pokemon, you've already lost a Pokemon. Which means removing Stealth Rocks is essentially useless, as in the turn you Rapid Spin, they switch in their Stealth Rocker. You can't do it with getting the Pokemon equivalent of -1 advantage. Very few high-league teams use Rapid Spin. Case point: Obi's stall team.

^_^ Bear in mind most Stealth Rockers have a weakness to either Water or Ice. If they switch in their Stealth Rocker during the turn that Starmie Rapid Spins, it's basically suicide. You think they'll be able to set it up again before they are OHKOd by Starmie? Because I don't. The exception to this rule is Skarmory, but a good Thunderbolt can put him in his place as well.

Style of writing.

Plus the fact you told me your age in about 3 seconds, and yet you have your age hidden on your profile, and the fact that you still find being perverted in RPs amusing. Both are characteristics of a generally 14 year old male unwilling to admit he is 14 so as not to appear uncool infront of all the other 17 year olds (who are really just other 14 year olds also pretending). I'm probably just being cynical, but hey, I'm a cynical bastard.

The general rule of the internet is to deduct 5 from the age someone says they are to find out what age they really are. Still, unless the famous "pics plz" gets a "yes" for an answer, it is pretty impossible to know for sure.

xD Yes, Saturn is just a fun guy.

And as for Blissey, she's the universal exception to like, every rule, Ok? NOBODY likes to face Blissey. =/ But, I've noticed a decline in her usage recently, probably thanks to people starting to get tired of her being everywhere. More and more lately, I've been seeing some pretty original teams.

Also, Togekiss can fvck Blissey's sh!t up.

Also, I'm 18. By your logic, does that mean I'm 13? ._.

Blissey says "hai. i'm a big fat pink blob that knows stealth rock' date=' learns thunderbolt, and has a huge sp. def and hp."

This makes Starmie sad. :(

EDIT: Luke: not really. Most of the stuff I fantasized about aged 14, I can do now.

Not true, there is a reason it's called fantasy because it's unrealistic and disturbing things that I'm talking about. Also don't post one word just to say bye to someone, that is considered spam.

Aeon: probably. Although, this is the internet, so I'll never know. I don't place much importance on age, seeing as it is so difficult to prove, I care more about intelligence. 13, 18, 67, doesn't make much difference as long as whoever it is can hold an intelligent conversation. :)

I'm just pointing out that Rapid Spinning isn't used on the best teams these days. If you want to use it, that is up to you. ^_^

Luke: Oh, unrealistic and disturbing stuff? Fine, fine.

BTW, Spam = Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages. My message wasn't pointless, its point was to say goodbye. It also wasn't stupid, in the sense it didn't indicate a lack of intelligence. It was AM, not SPAM.

EDIT: I don't even know what age I have on my profile. I just type in random numbers, because as I said, it doesn't matter to me. On this other forum I go to, my profile says I'm 67. On a different one, I'm apparently 8.

EDIT 2: Ah, I'm 17 here. Well, that isn't too far off.

^_^ I enjoy talking to you. Because you can hold up an intelligent conversation (even if it as about a subject people typically regard as childish =/ Screw those people). Anyway, yes, your point is true - Rapid Spin isn't seen as frequently as it used to be. Though honestly, I have no idea why. With some parties throwing all three Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and Stealth Rocks around, it seems more necessary to me. Eh, whatever.

Well, rest assured that I am in fact 18 - I've posted several pictures already. ^_^ You can see some of them on Drift.

Aeon: Rapid Spin isn't used because it wastes turn advantage.

When you use Stealth Rock, you just have to use Stealth Rock. That takes 1 turn. To get rid of Stealth Rock, you have to switch in (1 turn) and use Rapid Spin (2 turns), or wait till a Pokemon faints (-1 Pokemon), then use Rapid Spin (1 turn). Either way, you either have to sacrifice a Pokemon, or give your opponent a free turn.

If there was an ability that cleared the field when a Pokemon switched in, people would use that, because you switch in (1 turn), and then you are done. But there isn't, so Rapid Spin loses you an advantage. Instead, people now just carry a Poison type (Roserade/Tentacruel, usually) if they are worried about Toxic Spikes, and then make sure that the rest of their Pokemon do not have much of a Stealth Rock weakness.
