I'm planning to redo a few of my cards with upgraded OCG and suddenly thought of a Question I would like to ask all of you. Do you remember your first days joining up here? Were you nervous? My first days were like meeting a group of strangers for the first time. But they took me under thier wing, hell I even remember my first Rep by 72night for my good cards for a beginner. How did all of you find your first days?

Well at first I knew no one but it was the time when everyone was talking about frunk leaving (first time) and I knew nothing what they were talking about. Then I opened a shop which soon got merged with Omegawave's shop. He was a good friend to me, but he doesn't post in this forum no more. Then I decided to enter the general section and I saw frunk's post abotu leaving. In there I understood alot of things. They were bad times when I joined because all older members were leaving one by one because Frunk left but yet again I was very comfortable (spellt wrong) in this forum.

i remember my first days...but first i would like to thank my cousin, uchihablood2, to introducing me to this site. at first the cards i made were like poo to the other people's cards. i felt like such a noob. i was so scared that i almost gave up for this site, but some people, they gave me hope, and now, i'm actually good enough to enter Hunter's contest thingy! (yes, i suck that much...) So, I'll never forget the day i came to this site, and i will never forget all my friends that i've made here.

It was actually my bf who made this account at first

But he had no real interest in the forum, so he let me use it

I remember getting to 4 stars in a week lolx

I think I may have set a record XD

Jan 18th, 2008... I posted my first 4 cards. The likes of which Bloodrun, Dj, Yankeefan and Glasstin10 posted. Promptly following that I created a series of cards called the "Frost Generation" and made a lot of cards for them... Needless to say within 2days I had made more cards for that set that I would these days, It was my first step to becoming a great member. I had made friends with Glasstin10 and received advice from each of those members... Soon after Gphaku helped me and I decided to stay with the forum because there are people here who at least 'seem' to care if not truly do....

Thats my first week here I think...

Oh yeah. I remember. This cool member called Ruby_Carbuncle002 made a contest, and i was PMing him a lot, since i tought he was a good guy. Also i started PMing Ultimateryan, and Hunterb. I was a newb, horrible OCG, but not really Overpowered cards. My first rep was from a member called Loren when i won his contest >_o.

I felt good, and i liked the members, i hoped i could be one day as them >:]

Whoa. This is loooooooooooong.

I joined almost a year ago, on July 29 (apparently, that's Phantom Roxas's birthday), 2007. Like many, I just wanted to save my DCN card tie-ins. I eventually got around to discovering the forum, and I decided to do the smart thing and look around first. I did a looooooooooooooooong review on some of Shaco's cards for my first post, and got a rep for it. I posted some of my written cards, but literally no one so much as looked at them (the ignorance I still get to some degree now).

Now, this was waaaay back, back when tehodis had the same status as Jspamax, and Deity Mitsu held Hunter's card-making renown, and Emiya Shiro, then SushiTheLegend (always his best name), didn't brag about his perversion half as much as he does today, and Sartorius reaped the same loving hatred as Crab Helmet does today.

I've seen legends come (Jspamax, Hunter, Clariex...) and go (Frunk, Mitsu, Serrenox...). I've stayed for the entire duration of many legendary forum events (dA attack, GameFAQs attack, SD Duelist attack...). I've witnessed the fall of the potentially mighty (aaronpoe1988, whose reason for departure will always remain secret), and the rise of the unworthy (basherbelding11, who I will always remember as a perpetual n00b). I've kept modern gods (Ruby, Serrenox) as proper comrades rather than superiors. Never have I reaped such renown as those who I have observed, but I will always pride myself in having borne witness to their rises and falls to power, and always boast in recalling when modern legends were just ordinary members — good, but ordinary.

All in all, it's been worth it.

With all due respect,

Warning: Long Essay Post.

YCM was way different when I joined back in April of 2007 (15 months ago). Let's see... YCM was way slower back then. There were way less people. When I got here, I was member #901. I first posted in the Intros section like I normally do when I join a new forum. I was warmly greeted by a bunch of members. None of that copy, paste, "welcome to YCM" garbage. I mainly joined because HORUS told me to. And I had nothing better to do. I also joined with my brother, President Lord of Weenies. HORUS actually made my first ever post. This is probably why Frunk suspected us of being his multi-accounts (a somewhat less serious issue then). On my first day, I made about 40 posts, which was a pretty big amount in one day considering HORUS, the member with the highest post count, had about 800 posts. I don't remember being too nervous when I first joined. I was so impressed at the card making abilities of members such at TO and God Kaze, I thought I sucked compared to them. They were the card making masters back then. I guess the only time I was ever really nervous on this forum was the time before I posted some of my first cards, my Final Fantasy XIII cards. I didn't want everyone to think I was some Final Fantasy nerd (which I was back then). Why did I care so much about what others may have thought of me back then, I don't know. I was more shy and not so open back then. Especially in real life. Anyway, about my FFXIII cards, I think only one person actually commented on them, so.... meh. Crap. I remember entering a few contests too. Back then, contests were better. They were more organized, and since majority of the members were smart, they didn't just forget about them. And it was cool that people didn't always make their friends win. The better card maker would win. And sometimes, that would be me. It should be noted that prizes were smaller back then. The average prize for 1st was usually about 10 or so points a rep. (You could only give one rep an hour. I'll get to reps later). Points were worth more back then. Now, there are members with over 10000 points. Back then Danilus was the richest member with about 1800 points. Now what? Oh yeah, reps. Reps actually meant something back then. Or at least it seemed that way. No one would randomly hand out reps for small deeds. You would actually have to earn them (shock ). HORUS was the king of reps back then. He had nearly 60 positives, but he had about 10 negs too, so he had 50. (But back then, rep count looked like this: +60/-10, which a thumbs-up (for positive), and thumbs-down (for negative). Yugiohmasta444, had the most amount of negs. If I remember correctly, he had more than 30. Him and HORUS would usually bicker, and it would usually end with masta getting temp-banned by Frunk. Masta's ban would be lifted about a week later, and he would come back "changed". This would only last for about a week or so, and he would continue annoying everyone and trolling again. Frunk would temp-ban him again, and after the ban was lifted, he would be "changed" again. This would go on until HORUS was banned for sending Falling Pizza a link to a thread made by a spambot that contained links to porn. Shortly after HORUS was banned, my internet went down for about 6 weeks because Comcast sucks. It was during this time (June of 2007) when the new forum (this forum) came up and new card maker (you guessed it, the current one) came up. Now more members would join, and the spambot problem was fixed. Also, rep count was reset (I lost my 11 reps that actually mattered more back then ). It was shortly after this when the n00b problem started. Now it makes me wonder what I liked better: the old forum with less than 3000, but majority of the active members were smart, or the current forum where there are over 100,000, most of which are n00bs.

There is more that happened on the older forum, but I didn't include it. That way, if no one reads this, it wasn't a bigger waste of time.

EDIT: Giant wall of text lol.

Ok.. When I first joined the site, I did not post on it for my first 3 weeks. When I first posted, I was a noob. But worse, I did not even know how to post my cards.

I had good ideas, and good effects, but my OCG was a little off... After being told the my OCG sucked, I worked on it all until my head hurt.. my OCG has been nearly perfect since.

I always had a thing for decent pics though, I remember my first rep came from another new member who had grown fond of my cards.

One of my other first reps was from our very own God Kaze, for him seeing talent in a new card maker like me, that inspired me to make better cards, and look where I am today. :D
