it's a long story how i got here:

it was May, tests were coming quite soon. one day, i was staring at my yugioh cards and wondered: 'could i make my own?'

so i went to youtube and searched: own made yugioh cards and found a couple of videos about YCM and that dude's made up cards. he posted the link to here, and i followed it. i was directed to the card maker. at first i stared at it and thought 'what the heck' then made a few cards. my first card, is a card of a neopet (lol) but then i deleted it. then i signed up on 12th May.

summary: pretty cool

I'm planning to redo a few of my cards with upgraded OCG and suddenly thought of a Question I would like to ask all of you. Do you remember your first days joining up here? Were you nervous? My first days were like meeting a group of strangers for the first time. But they took me under thier wing' date=' hell I even remember my first Rep by 72night for my good cards for a beginner. How did all of you find your first days?

[/quote']

My first few days were boring. There weren't many active users, or anything. Me and Frunk were in a Runescape clan together, then he invited me to the site. So when I joined I asked him any questions I had and everything went smoothly. Before HORUS, TSL, etc. Most of you wont remember the active users from back then like Shaco, NP Sage, Steven, etc.

The good old days. Back before I was a super mod.

Heh.. When I first got here I posted a gigantic Valkyrie Set in Finished Cards/Sets, it got really nice reviews and I kept telling myself people here were just being condescending. Then I started looking around, especially in Contests, and won a fair number of those I entered, and realized that maybe I really was okay at card making. I've been holding to that opinion since then.

Shortly thereafter I ventured into the TCG section, because I love the real game, and at first felt like never returning there. Then I realized it's not such a bad place for people whose skills are as low as mine, as long as you're humble enough to realize your own limitations. If you do people, won't eat you there... or at least it hurts a lot less when they chew. :P

I don't remember having problems with the forum rules, mainly because they're similar in every civilized internet forum, and it didn't take long to understand who were the top men when it came to card making, and how far I was from that level of expertise. At first I was inclined to keep trying to match them, but recently I realized I don't have the time to give my cards a lot of thought and preparation, so I slowed down - I don't need to be the best, as long as the few cards I make please the majority of people.

I entered JerryFreeLance's "Are you the Best Card Maker?" thread as my first post. I didnt even know what a post was back then... I just clicked on a button. I remember Crab Helmet when he wasnt a moderator, and when he had a shy guy as his avatar. I remember J as SpiritofDMG and old school things. Like when Jerry, Dark Master, and Cyber Commander were still around... Too bad they left when I started to become known...

I hated VainZiler. He always beat me at everything. At the same time, he was one of my best friends. ;p

Ah, I remember when i first joined YCM... it was in the eve of change and revolution. I had no idea what I was in for, but what I did know was my passion to make cards. Entering contests and starting work on my first card set, I quickly would gain notice from others here, and soon became a regular. This was just before the grammar wars took place, and man, those were fun times.

When I joined, I coldn't get off. I tried to stay on as long as possible. I found the site by a search I had done before, then I had found just the card maker. Back then, I had no idea how to post cards, so I felt alone. Back then, I was on another account, 5t6t5. I'm sorry for doing that, but that account froze up on me and I didn't know what to do. So I hosted a written card contest which few people signed up to. Total Obelisk, the YCGod, had entered. He wasn't to big then, either. I entered a conest for veichroid, which I think I might have won. My card was Hondaroid. So I kept posting my, mabey overpowered, cards in written cards. I thought that the card maker was perfect. If I did spam, I didn't mean to. So I followed the rules that I was told, I met some new people, but I was still a regular member. Although I was, or am, different. I would either post a set, then give up on it, or pos a card, and take every hit. Back then, the card maker had no save button, put if you clicked the picture, the image URL would come up. It took me awhile to find the kind of URL to use. Back to the save thing. If I needed to change the card, I couldn't just get from the file and rewrite it. So I started slowley drifting away. Een now, I've drifted away, but I feel that I might be coming back. I'm probabley Pluto, and YCM is the sun.

While I was on, I didn't really know about any of the wars. I did understand Frunk leaving, but I didn't feel as big a need to say, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! FRUNK, DON'T GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" No, I might have said bye and don't go, but nothing as big as what I said before. It's not like i wouldn't miss him, it's just I didn't believe him to be YCM's God. The only one I think fits the bill is YCMaker.

I made a little shop, don't remember if it was stickied or not. I made duelist images, boosters, starter packs, or whatever, at low quality. I remember back when Pokesprites were NOT the center of the Graphic's Forum. They sort of lost they're popularity also. DerekWhaley, don't know his name now, has made a giant contest, JUST for pokemon. You had to create pokemon, mix or scratch, and give their stats. Tehodis joned in with her sprites and custom dexes. She later admitted that I think most of her sprites were ones she had found and asked permission to use, while she did make the dex and stats. At least she was nice. She even had this big Official Card Images Thread that many people used. She didn't make them, she just edited them. She made top notch graphics. She was even in a shop with SushiTheLegend, that's the best known name I got. You might be able to find it.

I remember the person who was the bestat card making besides god Kaze. (by the way, I think he's where everyone got God.) That person, was Total Obelisk. He posted all sorts of cards, he had some fanfics, he even helped some members. He was chosen by YCMaker to test the new(this) card maker. His fanfic, the Third Legacy, is my favorite fanfic I wonder how far its gotten.

Well, to all who thought I might be bigger than Slimey in terms of post, I'm sorry. But, mak note of this. Oplo's back and he's ready to shine!
