Simply saying, "lol fail" isn't constructive at all. So just elaborate and back up your opinions. Otherwise, we'll (us Tales fans) think you're just being grumpy. @Luke: Meh, graphics don't really matter in RPGs. I'd rather have an RPG with crappy graphics and an awesome story, then good graphics and a meh story. To me, good graphics are just a bonus. Besides, if anything, Hearts graphics are better than Phatasia's, Destiny PS1's, and possibly Eternia's. And I thought you would say something about the Abyss OVA. I can't wait. I set myself a challenge once and played through the game as Genis when I could. It was a nice change of pace. With the exception of Phatasia and Eternia, normally don't play as the main character in any of the games. In the beginning of Symphonia, I usually play as Kratos, and Lloyd whenever I had too. Once I got Zelos, I used him just about all the time, except the times when he wasn't in the party. If he wasn't in the party, I just played as Lloyd. Next playthrough, I'll probably play as Presea for the lulz. In Legendia, I mostly played as Chloe. I played as Senel if Chloe wasn't in the party, which wasn't a big problem seeing as you get her pretty early. In Abyss, for my first two playthroughs, I mostly played as Luke, but I would play as Guy on occasion. On my 3rd and 4th (my current playthrough), I mostly used Guy, but I would play as Luke if Guy wasn't in the party. For Destiny 2, it was 50/50 between Kyle and Judas. Kyle if I needed a tank (I don't use Loni in my main party), and Judas if I wanted more tech and higher combos and stuff. In Rebirth, it's currently 50/50 between Veigue and Eugene. Veigue is easier to play as and combo with, but Eugene seems a little faster and stronger. And I think it's easier to actually hit the enemy as Eugene. In Innocence, I mostly used Spada and Ange. Ruca is way too slow. Both were very easy to combo with. With Infinity Jam with a party of Spada, Ange, and Iria, I could easily pull off a 300+ hit combo. Maybe even more if the enemy would die in the middle of it. :P In Vesperia, I'm probably going to play as Yuri (the main character), but I'm going to try out Estelle, Judith, maybe Raven, and Flynn if he joins the party. Estelle kind of sucked in the demo, but was because if you didn't use her to heal, you would easily die. (Lulz. Another long-ish post) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
SushiTheLegend Posted July 13, 2008 Author Report Share Posted July 13, 2008 Well the Symphonia OVA had potential...but they just dropped it after four episodes and really made it awful, a 26 episode series is just what the franchise needs...even the Eternia OVA was more interesting. I'm surprised you never mentioned RM2 since it looks really good compared to RM1. And with regards to who you play as I pretty much always play as the main character, it is only on rare occasions I'll try out one of the other characters to see how well they play and such. (I'm so glad I don't have to put up with Shonen for a while, that last PM he sent was so annoying that when I replied he had already blocked me which annoyed me. The Slime Lord Posted July 13, 2008 Report Share Posted July 13, 2008 I mentioned RM2 in my first post. It was huge, so you probably missed it. Apparently, it has about 50 characters in it. Much more than RM1's 18. It's shaping up to be much better than RM1. And it's likely we might get it. RM1 was localized and did okay. Well, it has a better chance of localization than Hearts. And about the Symphonia, I thought they were making 4 more episodes. Or was that just a rumor? However I just got owned by Large and Sync...mind you I am only on Level 19 for Luke and Tear with Level 18 for Guy and Jade...but still Guy and Luke got pretty much owned...so I'll play it later. SushiTheLegend Posted July 13, 2008 Author Report Share Posted July 13, 2008 Meredy is full of pure awesomeness, her "unknown" language of Melnics can be annoying at the start but she is a pretty skilled caster and she also has some of the really cool Craymels but you can of course switch the Craymels between Meredy and Keele. I have still yet to complete Eternia...when I eventually get my PSP fixed it is one of the first games I plan to finish along with GX Tag Force 2. Pretty much every character's voice acting annoyed me in that game, so I turned it on "Shut up" mode. And I believe Chat was intended to be the loli/cute character in that game. Not Meredy. Just like how Presea can also be considered the loli/cute character in Symphonia. As for fighting in 2-D, I kinda like it. It sucked in Phantasia and Destiny 2 because it was really easy to get screwed by getting trapped between enemies. I really only liked Eternia's battle system because it was one of the fastest and basic. Rebirth is different though. It's like 2.5-D. Or replace Guy with Natalia if he's acting stupid and running straight into their FOFs and Mystic Artes with 100HP. Go after Largo first. You can easily beat him by abusing free-run by dodging just about all of his attacks. As for names, Namco usually trademarks a few names every year or so. Some names they've trademarked are: Honesty, Truth, Valor, Harmonia, Nexus, Genesis, etc. I personally wouldn't mind a female protagonist. Besides, at that point in the game, Resurrection won't really help you that much unless you're trying to get a Grade bonus by not using any Life Bottles. And it would take a while to get from 19 to 27 anyway. But wait until you beat the game and start another with 10x Exp. You normally level up 2-5 times every boss battle. By the end of the game, all your guys probably would have been at 200 for a while. Just a question, but are Anise and Natalia usually sitting and just "warming up the bench" so to speak? I usually had them be my bench warmers. My next objective is that darn Sword Dancer since I won't be able to own it after the little events that take place soon, and I also have Lagretta to have romantic fun with, XD. When playing with 10x Exp., you level up about 8-10 times after beating it. :P And you can easily beat Lagretta by abusing free-run.
