Time Travel?

End Of The Abyss

Recommended Posts

I do not like the idea of time travel. I read a short story called "A Sound of Thunder" in college that involved time travel. It was about a time traveling safari hunt that let you hunt dinosaurs that were already on the brink of death. Unfortunately, one of the characters stepped on a butterfly. This action altered the entire course of history. It was a really good story, but it changed my whole perspective on time travel.

I cannot approve of time travel. The consequences would be far too great.

well then.. time travel.. umm, its a very confusing topic...

well a lot of people believe that if you can go back in time, you could change something... but you can even if you could. and for this reason: You go back in time to stop you.. so you stop you from doin somethin and now that means that youv never done it.. well.. now you never went back in timeto stop yourself.. and blah blah blah blah.. paradox!

Time Travel...

The mere thought of it is incomprehensible. Ho would the physics and mechanics of such a thing work? How would our affects on the past effect the future? How much energy would it need, resources, and so on? It's out of our grasp.

Also, couldn't wanted terrorists and people like that flee to different times? Or go back in time and keep doing the same thing over?

We'd better stop trying, we'd only be hitting our dead end stop sooner.

time is such an abstract topic in itself, that I can barely even define Time Travel. The way I look at it, we are always travelling throught time. The machine you mentioned would just speed it up, or reverse it. Overall I doubt that it is even possible, but who knows.

We cannot.

On the idea of the speed of light thing;

When you travel in a car, you are doing the same thing, just on a much smaller scale. You are traveling one mile into the future per minute, rather than 1/6 of a mile per minute into the future that you would on a bike. Light does this at 186k miles per second.

Also, it can only travel into the future, it cannot travel into the past. Wormholes are a completely different issue, and such a complicated issue should not be discussed without a couple professionals/people who have taken college physics to explain parts that I could not explain.

That is exactly what I think as well. I have my doubts about time travel but somehow if we did only go into the future.

Time Travel makes to many paradoxes.

For one if you were to go back in time, that would mean you were already their when the events you went back to were happening, meaning you can not change the past.

However if you were to kill your own farther, your farther is unable give birth to you, so you can never go back in time, but if you could never go back in time how could you kill your farther.

We will never travel in time. It's simply impossible. Time isn't an object that can be ripped open; its a hypothetical term used to describe the distance in which our life passes.

Sorry, but it's fun to pretend we will one day time travel. But I HIGHLY doubt we will EVER travel in time. It seems, theoritically speaking of course, impossible.

Time is a perception of human's, a way they make sense of the energy that manifests the void. In actuality, in a realm devoid of energy, time does not exist.

Resolve: We cannot travel into the past. Traveling into the future is nothing more than accelerating through the present, and is not technically "Time Travel."

Case Closed.
