Willieh
Lucid Dreaming. It's such an interesting topic. I find it impossible myself. Here, in order to get my point I'll have to give you a slacked definition of "Lucid Dreaming". Lucid Dreaming is being consious of the fact that you are dreaming whilst dreaming, and having the ability to control anything that happens in your dream. Basically it's when you can determine the difference between reality and dreaming, while you're dreaming. Now Lucid Dreaming is like playing an instrument. You're either born with the natural talent, or you have to learn it. Learning Lucid dreaming is...hard to say the least. You have to train yourself to be consious of dreaming. Now I read about it and have found several ways to actually fulfill this. -Keep a notebook beside your bed. Everytime you awaken from a slumber, record what your dream was about and what occured during the course of this dream. -Take reality checks. Study the environment around you in the real world, constantly take note of small things that would prove your dream reality false. -During the dream, don't be distracted. Distraction can occur very easily in a dream. Like you'll see something that you wouldn't see in actually reality and then go "Oh look a kitty!" All my information was gathered from this site:http://www.dreamviews.com/learnable.php So far I have only been successful at doing this 1 time. They say it only occurrs 1-2 times a month if that much. Please reply to this thread with your thoughts on lucid dreaming. I find it to be a very interesting topic. Wyhe
So its all about having dream when you are already dreaming & being able to know & control one's own dreams

In a sense yes. Realizing that you are dreaming allows you to control what you are dreaming because you know that you are dreaming. So if you say....had a dream and you did undergo lucid dreaming and lets say that during this lucid dream, for the sake of arguing, you choose to have sex with someone that you really adore in the consious world. The experience probably wouldn't be as much fun as in a regular dream because you are actually consious that it is in fact a dream, and that you will eventually wake up. However if you are having a nightmare and some type during that night mare you see something that is just undeniably stupid and realize that it is a dream; you can eliminate whatever is actually making you scared because you will realize that it isn't possible. Really confusing unless you study it a lot or something :?
2sick4u
Firstly, I'm still waiting for the boob's your sig-thuggery has promised me. -_-.I WANT MY BOOBS DAMMIT. And not ordinary ones..I want the best ones.Anyway.Lucid dreaming.. This just seems like day-dreaming, except alot more interactive. =/.I mean, when I come to the realization that I'm just dreaming, I usually wake up in a sudden jolt. =/. It seems probable, and down right fun, but.. Why would someone want to perfect something like this just to bend an illusion of reality? The central idea just appears pointless to me. =/.Oh, just for the heck of it, when you did manage to do control you're dream, what exactly did you do inside of it? O.o.

Honestly it's like playing a video game, except you have all the cheat codes (like gameshark or something :|). I tried to do it over and over again because it is so much fun. It turns dreaming into an experience rather than an illusion. Trust me, in action it's much more fun than in theory. And what I did inside it might be more appropriate in a sex chat room :P. (jokes) I don't exactly remember what I did in it. I just remember it was much better than a normal dream, but also much more...bland.

Aelsthla-Mental
Hey; i did that once, or twice... can't remember if one was lucid, or just always going my way. So it's called lucid dreaming... Maybe I'll try learning so i can do that ALL the time. Definitely fun, though takes away the belief that it's real :(. Anyway, thanks for telling me! I couldn't make any sense of the movie.)This sounds.. Kind of, revolutionary though. Those who wanted to escape reality could, and such. Even prevent suicides.. Though.. Losing knowledge of what happened sucks.. And it does sound like it could drive someone a little bonkers, with the addictive "Always wanting to feel this way" aspect to the God-like state.. But still. Epic.=].
_+_
For me, I can very rarely control my dreams (or I think I can...), but if my dreams last more than five minutes, then I'm very self aware that I'm dreaming. Very interesting experiences.
Neiko
I've done this at least twice in the last year or so...-.- It is weird when your dreaming dreams last some of the time like 10 minutes but when you wake up it is morning.. Well at least i have trained myself to wake up on command if i don't like the dream i'm having^^
Mr. Judgment Dragon
Wow. I didnt think this would actually come up on here. I can actually control my own dreams most of the time.
Willieh
In a lot of ways I could see where people wouldn't want to use this method of dreaming. It could possibly take away from the fun/randomness of the dream- knowing you're asleep I mean.
Buffer
it would be impossible for me to do this because i only dream 1 time in a month and i only remember 5 minutes of the dream i only dream once a month and it always the same one but in different parts so yea it would be stupid for me to even try this "Lucid Dreaming" of witch you speak

Guest JoshIcy
I used to be able to do this much more as a toddler, so I enjoyed going to sleep as a result. Though often it would last so long, that I thought I'd have to go to the bathroom and wet my bed -.-".... But after age 11, I started to loose this ability for some odd reason. Meh, I should get back into it lol...

KornKing153
When I do dream I don't remember a time when I couldn't control my dreams. All it takes is some mind control and a control over you'r sub conciuss. The onley time I couldn't control is when my ex dumped me. I was haunted mby nightmares for weeks. Yogg-Saron
I have had dreams where I realized I was dreaming, yet I was kind of in an awkward state, and told other people in my dream that it was a dream. They just went about there business and payed me no mind.

The Slime Lord
I've controlled some of my dreams before. I was aware I was able to think and do what I wanted to. Kinda like, "No, I don't want to do that, I want to do this". It was kind of cool. It's weird because I when I woke up, I was arguing with myself about whether or not I just controlled my dream.
