O wait since this is now a discussion about competitive battling I wound if I should post this.

Um.........I will

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_znZ--AUFQ

marriland staged that fight and all the other pokemon were hacked

but yes it is amusing to see him get owned by bidoof

They were hacked, but they weren't illegal. You could train all those pokemon to be that way if you put enough time into it. :| I wouldn't though.

First off about the hate on Legendaries.

They fall under what is considered the "Oober" Category. Their stats are considerably higher than that of the "non-oober" pokemon and they have a much wider and stronger move pool than the rest of the "non-oobers". Obviously using even 1 Legendary in a match against normal ranked pokemon is an unfair advantage. Unless you have spoken with your opponent and both agree on the use of Legendaries, don't use them. It doesn't prove your strength, only your inability to win at a fair fight.

Secondly, Bragging Rights.

If you are going to brag about how strong your pokemon are and how you can pwn anyone ONLY BECAUSE you used either Pokesav, Action Replay or EV training, you aren't that good. All you did was tip the balance in your favor as much as possible because 9/10 times, you suck at pokemon. You have no grasp of the concept of pokemon speed, plus move speed, plus attack strength, plus attack type, plus attack ability, plus pokemon strength, then to factor in all of your opponent's attacks, defenses, weaknesses, strengths, types, sub-types, etc. as well as the pokemon abilities of both pokemon. You walk into a battle and expect to overpower or outspeed your opponent and have no real grasp of strategy or training in general.

Thirdly, unless you have codes activated, ANY pokemon can be defeated.

Remember the strengths/weaknesses table created every time a new pokemon version comes out?

Fighting is weak to Psychic is weak to Dark is weak to Fighting?

Everything has a strength and a weakness and with the right combination of attacks, any pokemon can be brought down.

So if you fall under any of these three categories, do not gloat about your pokemon training ability because you have none. All you have done is punched in a few codes to tip the game in your favor, strengthen up select pokemon and then beat honest trainers down with them.

I use action replay just to level up that is it. I decide moves that go to together not ones that just have 100 base power. So dont go saying just because you use an AR you are bad at Pokemon i didnt always have a AR but even when i didnt i still did pretty good, plus you learn from expierience you cant say just because you raised a pokemon from level 1 it automaticly makes you a master at pokemon.

So whether you use a AR or not it doesnt detirmen if you are a bad player or not, maybe i am a bad player? so what say what you will. I am defending all hackers out there! 'Cept pokesav generated i still have catch my pokemon >.<

Do not in general call everyone a bad pokemon player because there are very few people have never accualy used one and dont say you havnt because you have i am not stupid, nothing is legetimet in video games any more there will always be hackers.

[b']Not all Legendaries are "Ubers." In competitive battling most teams use at least one non uber Legendaries[/b]

Again, the way I understand competitive Pokemon is that all Pokemon are EV trained to the max, and most people use Action Replay to get TMs and to level up their teams, because it takes to long to get them to level 100

Remember the strengths/weaknesses table created every time a new pokemon version comes out?

Fighting is weak to Psychic is weak to Dark is weak to Fighting?

This applies for everything, but just because they can be defeated doesn't mean it is a walk in the park to do so.

In reference to responses from my previous post.

No, not all legendaries are Oobers, but they fall under the oober category because of their wide-move pool and usually, their pokemon effects.

Pressure is a great example of an "oober" pokemon simply because it forces you to burn through moves twice as fast. Many legendaries you already know possess this ability, tipping the favor to the owner of the legendary.

90% of all legendaries base stats excede that of any non-oober pokemon, making the fight unfair.

95% of all legendaries have at least 1 attack that does excedingly massive damage for almost no cost in return (skipping 1 turn due to recharging does not count as a cost).

And while my post may have seemed to call out all trainers who use Action Replay, as dumb***es who don't know pokemon, I appologise. I'm talking to those who sit and brag about level 100 pokemon and use legendaries, and the only reason they have those pokemon and those levels is because of items like Gameshark, Action Replay, and PokeSav.

I, myself, love a good challenge, and will throw down legendary to legendary any day, but the last thing I will do is brag about using codes to up my pokemon exponentially.

Like I said, once I get my internet up and running again back at home, I will gladly take challengers with certain rules.

1) No legendaries unless previously agreed upon through e-mails or PM's.

2) Pick 6 pokemon. We will both use those pokemon in our battle together (*note* I ONLY use the evolved forms of each pokemon. Do not ask for a Budew and get mad when I send Roserade).

3) All my pokemon will be level 100. Do not ask for a battle with max level of 50. If you want that, talk to my wife, she handles all the lower level battles.

Side note:

If you beat me, name any pokemon that you saw me battle with.

Give me three days. I will trade you a replica of that pokemon for a starly, not to excede level 5.

Well....yeah... -.-

No ofense' date=' but I think you're one of those 10 years-old guys who buy an Action Replay, catch lots of Legendary Pokemon LV99 and think you can beat everyone because of that. -.-

[/quote']

Actually,

I'm 21, happily married as of last month, own the Cards 'N' Crafts shop in my signature, am enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, and play Pokemon for fun as a way to unwind from a hectic and busy day at work.

I purchased the Action Replay in order to catch the Pokemon that are unobtainable through Diamond and catch them at level 2, 3, or 4 (north of Sandgem town) and raise them from there.

I do have 1 file that I used Rare Candies, and a plethera of other items in that I keep saved on my laptop for fun.

Your case is different: you used it to catch unobtainable pokemon.

And you got them at level 2 or 3, wich makes them even stronger at level 100.

I've seen lots of people who cath lvl 99 pokemon and then level up them with a Rare Candy, and because of that, they think they can beat everyone.

Those are the ones that irk me the most. I have a buddy like that who will scour the internet for the "unbeatable" pokemon and then challenge me to a match with them.

Last match was:

His team:

Typhlosion, Heatran, Lugia, Ho-oh, Raikou, Entei, Suicune

My team:

Empoleon, Infernape, Dialga, Palkia, Dialga (shiny), Dragonite

His 5 "unbeatable" legendaries against my 3. First match he knocked me down by 3 pokemon. Last match he had me down to my last 2. Immediately after that match, I boxed my pokemon and began training my weaker pokemon again, and he scoured his action replay for more "unbeatable" pokemon to try and best me.

I prefer to get the level 2 and 3 pokemon in order to control the attacks they have when they reach level 100. I'm not going to pretend like I've never used an action replay for some Rare Candies, Poffins, etc., but I'm not going to sit and brag about the pokemon I raise like that either.

I play the game legitimately when I want to play the game legitimately and my pokemon are just as powerful as they are when I code them to death, but the only ones I'll brag about are the legitimately trained pokemon.

My wife hates when people do it too. She's pretty lethal with her fire-types when she wants to be, and LOVES the pokemon contests to death. Her Ponyta is a Master Ranked pokemon in I think two contests.
