Deck Master Gameplay

Experience your Yu-Gi-Oh Gameplay with the new Deck Master Rule Set! In the Virtual World arc of the Yu-Gi-Oh! second series anime, Yugi and his fellow companions had to battle the Big 5 and the obnoxious Noah Kaiba by a set of rules known as the Deck Master Rules. Before anyone starts a duel with these sets of rules, one must read through all of the following to understand the different gameplay.

• Before you start a Duel, you and your opponent muse select 1 "Deck Master" monster and its selected counterpart (eg. "DM - Flame Swordsman" and "Flame Swordsman"). Do not show these cards to your opponent

• Place the two cards FACE DOWN into a chosen area away from the Duel Field, this area is called the DECK MASTER ZONE

• During the Duel, normal rules apply and same types of gameplay stays the same

• At any time during the duel, you can flip your "Deck Master" card face-up, allowing it to activate its effect that is written on the card. Most of the "Deck Master" cards have a continous effect, so once the cards are flipped face-up, they remain face-up for the rest of the duel

• During your Main Phase, if you cannot Summon a monster under any circumstances, or you control no monsters, you can Special Summon your "Deck Master" monster from your DECK MASTER ZONE as a protection to protect your Life Points

• If the "Deck Master" monster is Tributed for a Tribute Summon, sent to the Graveyard for a Synchro Summon or Fusion Summon, or is Tributed to Summon a monster in any sort of way, the new monster summoned is treated as your new DECK MASTER.

• If you wish, once the "Deck Master" monster is Summoned, you may tribute it to Summon its counterpart from the DECK MASTER ZONE, ignoring all Summoning conditions. If so, that monster is then treated as your new DECK MASTER.

• If your DECK MASTER is destroyed by battle, by a card effect, or removed from the field by not one of the above stated, you lose the duel. So try and keep your DECK MASTER safe by using Spell and Trap cards.
